The Call to Action

One of the reasons why you became a coach is that you want to reach as many people as possible and you want to help your clients achieve their goals and solve their problems.

You know that from the moment you start working with a client, he/she will expect you to be there for them every step of the way. You must create a relationship with your clients right from the start.

Lead them to your solution

First of all, you must show them you know what their problem is, and you have the right solution to solve it. Explain the steps you must take together to reach their goal, and the things each of you must do along the way. Be realistic and make them realise the road could be bumpy sometimes, but if they know exactly what they want to achieve, they will get there in the end. Remind them you are there for them throughout the entire process.

Your clients must know from the start what your solution is. Then get them involved in the process, so that they strongly feel part of the entire experience. Ask them the right questions so they give you the right answer:

– What is their biggest challenge? – What is their No.1 problem? – What is their deepest, most irrational fear?

You can be their friend, but they must always know that you are the professional who gets things done. You must always be able to draw a line between a friend who only gives advice and a professional who finds solutions and gets results.

Motivate them to commit to the process

They must see in you the leader they need. If you are the specialist you say you are, they will need to know the advantage of working with you. And that advantage is not that you take care of everything and do their share of the work. The biggest risk is that they do not appreciate your work at its real value. Plus, they will not be emotionally involved in their own process, if you do their work for them and they are only spectators. You must make your clients understand that the more they get involved in solving their own problem or reaching their goal, the greater their satisfaction will be. Once they make it, they will feel like winners, they will feel that nothing can stand in their way if they put their mind to it and work towards it with real dedication.

You know your clients will need motivation and inspiration whenever they feel like giving up. But you will see from the beginning who is committed to the experience and who is not. Commitment on their part is very important. This is why you must develop programmes, products and sessions to make them commit all the way.

Of course, it is always easier to build a successful business if you work with clients highly motivated to succeed. These are the ones who want to make the most of your coaching. They become, in time, your business card, your success stories to tell to other clients and inspire them to succeed.

Remember, use your coaching as a tool to motivate, inspire and help others transform their lives. This is actually what led you to coaching in the first place, and the satisfaction you will feel at the end of the day cannot be compared to anything else!
