As if her show’s cast doesn’t have enough drama already, Kim Richards has added a little bit more as she’s headed to rehab.
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star is seeking treatment to help with her drinking habit, according to sources of Entertainment Tonight.
Richard’s substance abuse issues first became public knowledge after sister and fellow cast mate Kyle Richards called her an alcoholic during a limo fight on the season one finale. At the end of the episode, viewers were told that “Kim’s family checked her into rehab… A week later, she checked herself out. She is taking her life one day at a time.”
As for Richards’ conduct on the latest season of Bravo’s popular reality series, the former child star’s on-screen antics were what set off speculation she may have fallen off the wagon again.
In October, new co-star Brandi Glanville accused Kim of being “wasted out of her f—ing mind” during an episode with Kim strongly denying it during a shouting match that became one of the show’s biggest fights so far this season.
The aunt to Paris Hilton also revealed in an episode last month that she’s been prescribed anti-anxiety and antidepressant medications, as well as an anti-seizure medicine that’s said to be used in the treatment of alcoholism.
Interestingly enough, Star magazine reported last week that Bravo was planning to give Kim an ultimatum – either go to rehab or get kicked off the show next season. An inside source told the publication of the 47-year-old’s predicament, “She may have to go to rehab in order to save her job on the show,” adding, “People involved with the show are concerned and might have to step in … friends and families don’t talk about what’s going on with Kim.”
