Review of the Youtube Series Sailor Moon

Youtube series Sailor Moon not to be mistaken with the popular Sailor Moon anime depicts random videos of a girl and her stuffed cat. These episodes are only between ten seconds and thirty seconds long relying on simple randomness to entertain the audience.

This series fits in with a lot of random videos one will find on youtube of people simply trying to get noticed. They are good for a short what the heck factor, but quickly loses its appeal.

Perhaps the most amazing thing about this series is the number of views it has for how simple the production is. Each video starts randomly with no intro or credits, just a short act of a girl and her cat. Episodes are done with a typically still set camera using one shot per video.

The girl in these videos has an interesting personality, which could perhaps make this series interesting if it was given a little more substance. If the videos were cohesively put together to form even just a slight resemblance of a plot line it might work a little better. The factor of being confused and wondering what is going on can only take the audience so far before it just seems kind of random and pointless.

These episodes do have a base structure for a good skit type comedy, but the series needs a lot more time and creative effort put forth. At the current time there are only six episodes, which equal less than a minute combined. I would be interested to see where this series will go if it continues and would like to see the short clips structured into one longer episode.
