Let’s break down the videotape.

The throwing motions are nearly identical from the opposite sides. Freeman is right handed, Tebow left.

In the first video above at the 1:43 mark you will see Freeman bring the ball to his hip and throw a TD. At the :45 mark of the second you will see the same thing by Tebow. I noticed Freeman’s throwing motion in a preseason game this week and thought it looked familiar. It was like watching a right handed Tebow! So how come Freeman is one of the hottest young QBs around and Tebow will never make it? That is for all the professional to tell me, because I don’t understand.

Both of these young QBs are mobile, use their feet to keep plays alive and buy time, and both bring the ball to their hip before release. Freeman’s rookie year he started 9 games and played in 10. Completed 54.5% of his passes with 10 TDs and 18 INTs. He gained valuable experience and grew with his team. The next year he was the starter and went 10-6 with 25 TDs and 6 INTs. He also ran 68 times for 364 yards. His last year in college he rushed 107 times for 404 yards. I don’t know if he played the spread at Kansas State, but that is a lot of running for a QB. Tebow’s rookie year had only 3 starts. He completed 50% of his throws on the season with 5 TDs and 3 INTs. He rushed 43 times for 227 yards and 6 TDs.

So they both can and will run, both bring the ball to their hip before release and both are known winners. Yet somehow one is a rising star and the other may never see the field again if some sage reporters have their way. Maybe they should be the ones looking in the mirror.
