Hotel Review of Crowne Plaza in Virginia Beach, Virginia

Earlier this year my husband and I decided that we needed a little break from life. Our rest and relaxation trip was only for a weekend, so we packed the kids up, dropped them off at grandma’s house and headed to the Crowne Plaza in Virginia Beach.

The Hotel
The hotel was nice, it had a modern feel to it. There was a restaurant on site that was closed during our stay, and a bar that didn’t open until later in the evening. It was practically a ghost town because it was off-season, so I was surprised that we didn’t receive an upgrade when I inquired. Internet service was free and fast. It also had a small convenience shop in the lobby, which sold various items like tooth-brushes candy, soda, and Tylenol. I have no idea what the indoor pool was like because it was closed due to renovations.

The Room
The room was standard. We had a king-sized bed, a little sitting area with a couch and coffee table, mini-fridge, and a microwave. The room was very clean and surprisingly spacious. Housekeeping was on their job and very accomodating when we needed extras.

Location
I chose this hotel because of the location. We didn’t want to be on the boardwalk, but was only 10 minutes away if we wanted to visit. There were plenty of restaurants, bars, shopping and nightlife all less than a mile away at the Virginia Beach Town Center. This center stretches 17 blocks long and has an eclectic mixture of shops including: Boutiques, cafes, a performance arts center, and a comedy club, just to name a few. You can just park your car and take a nice stroll.

The Price
The cost for two nights was around $100. I’m a bargain shopper, so I used Priceline to bid on the price for my hotel stay.

Overall we had a nice stay. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.
