Hotel Review: Marriott Courtyard Logan Airport Boston

If a flight out of Boston’s Logan International Airport is in your plans, leaving your car at a hotel close to the airport makes good financial sense. The Marriott Courtyard Boston Logan Airport is located less than 2 miles from the airport. This full service hotel has lots of amenities that make it a great choice.

The obvious reason to choose this hotel is the location. On route 1A heading toward Revere, you can look out your windows and see the planes taking off. The hotel is very quiet however, with no sounds of the flights or the traffic. The lobby is very attractive with a fireplace and a small store. The restaurant at the hotel serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Computers are available right off the lobby if you need to print your boarding pass and also complimentary coffee.

The hotel has a variety of interesting rates and some of them include dinner as well as parking. When compared to the rates for parking anywhere else, it is like getting your room for free. A shuttle truns 24 hours a day. You just need to be in the lobby 15 minutes before you want to leave.

We chose a rate that included a $25 dinner credit. The restaurant is okay, not great. There are very limited choices and frankly if it wasn’t the only place to eat, it would not be my first choice but the convenience is great if you don’t feel like driving around trying to find someplace else.

The hotel has plenty of free parking and they added an indoor pool in 2012. In addition there is a fitness center and a guest laundry.

The rooms are everything that you expect from a Courtyard Marriott. You enter the room and there is a wall unit with a sink on one wall and the bathroom on the other. The bathroom is small but very clean with a sliding door. The wall unit has a coffee pot and storage.

Since Courtyards are designed to please business customers rooms include a large desk area with lots of electric plugs and wireless Internet access is free of charge to guests. The room has two phones, one on the desk and one on the night stand. The flat screen TV has plenty of stations to watch including Showtime. The wall unit has a closet built in.

A sleeper sofa is in the room as well as two square rolling hassocks that can be used for luggage or just sitting. You have a choice of two double beds or a king bed and the beds have soft white bedding and great pillows. The bed is so comfortable you just may be asking them where you can get one.

This hotel has a lot going for it and it is a great choice if you are just looking for somewhere to stay in the area but for an overnight stay before an early flight, it is perfect. We have used this hotel three times to take early morning flights to Europe and it is ideal. When we returned we didn’t want to have to wait for the van so we took a cab which cost us $11. After a long flight, it was worth spending a little extra to not have to wait.
