Five Extraordinary Pieces of Instrumental Music by Modern Composer Dustin O’Halloran

Dustin O’Halloran is a formidable talent behind the piano and when it comes to creating extraordinary instrumental compositions. His music is ethereally beautiful, with hints of tranquility and sadness. Often it is hard to recognize that Dustin O’Halloran is a modern composer, and not a musician from 18th century Europe. Here is a look at five of Dustin O’Halloran’s most inspiring pieces, and why he remains one of my favorite composers to this day.

“Opus 23″

“Opus 23″ is a perfect example of what a talented composer Dustin O’Halloran truly is. The sadness felt in “Opus 23″ is nothing short of palpable. O’Halloran gracefully moves from frame to frame in a deep state of melancholy. Never before has sadness sounded this beautiful.

“Opus 55″

Another song by Dustin O’Halloran that creeps into the soul of the listener is “Opus 55.” The song is hauntingly beautiful, and the various phrases of the song give this piece added depth. The song is multi-dimensional and never ceases to amaze me.

“We Move Lightly”

“We Move Lightly” is another perfectly composed piece of music by Dustin O’Halloran. “We Move Lightly” is a song you can quite simply lose yourself in. The tempo is constantly evolving from upbeat to easy -going, and the song continues to pull you in. Quite simply, every second of “We Move Lightly” is enjoyable, with the different themes complimenting each other nicely.

“Opus 17″

“Opus 17″ is a bit different from the other songs by Dustin O’Halloran I’ve listened to. Although the song has a sad sound like many other O’Halloran songs, the tempo is a bit more upbeat. “Opus 17″ is not as long as most O’Halloran songs, but the piece is none the less beautiful. From beginning to end, “Opus 17″ kept me engaged and enthralled.

“Prelude 3″

“Prelude 3″ is one of Dustin O’Halloran’s most intricate and awe-inspiring pieces to date. The piece is overflowing with emotion, and is easily one of his most beautiful pieces on record. The way the music transforms at the mid-point is graceful and draws the listener in with no apologies. “Prelude 3″ is one hell of an achievement.

Dustin O’Halloran remains one of my favorite modern day composers, as well as composers of all time because his compositions are like no other. O’Halloran is unique, creative and innovative, and has produced some extraordinary pieces of instrumental music.
