Alone to Listen

I am alone in the snow under the quiet stars.
Listen and you will hear silence away so far.
The orange moon rises as the baby fox follows his mother.
Alone and still I think of my young brother.

The deer are prancing by and sound an alarm.
I slowly move back and open my door.
As I go inside my home, I wonder about these creatures.
I wish them no harm.

It is so wonderful inside my private space.
I read books by a night lamp.
This blanket my friend made for me is beautiful and warm.
Inside I own my quiet special camp.
