Internet Marketers are constantly debating over the best ways to drive traffic to their website. In fact some marketers say that article marketing is dead. I totally disagree with that and I will give you my six reasons why I use articles to drive traffic to my own websites.
1. By creating high quality content that is SEO optimized and publishing it regularly on various directories and on your website you will create rabid fans. They will be eager to read your latest article. The idea here is to get them to click on the link in the resource box on your article which will lead them to your site. When this happens it can really generate a lot of traffic for you. You can also take those articles and use them in conjunction with social media and it can go viral.
2. When you post your articles to the different directories you are getting backlinks to your site. The better PageRank the directory has the better quality of backlinks you will get. I would personally look for directories with a PageRank of 3 or better.
3. Writing articles exposes you to a much larger audience. One way of doing this is by submitting to the different directories. When you do this there is a good chance of other people viewing your article and using it on their sites. Before you know it other sites will be posting your articles. This has a dual effect. You get more exposure as well as more backlinks. This is a win-win situation!
4. The more popular your articles are in the directories the longer they stay up. That is why it is so important to write high quality content that over delivers. If you do this you can almost certainly be sure that other sites pick up your article and link to it. This gives you more exposure which increases the traffic to your site.
5. Writing articles is a great way to build a list of subscribers. Many times article marketers are seen as authority in their given niche so that is why it is so important to give them quality information and to try and establish a relationship with your list. By doing this you can send them through the link in your resource box to your site or to a squeeze page for whatever it is your are promoting. This creates an income stream for you. The best part of it is that it did not cost you any money.
6, It is much easier than you think to be an article marketer. Many people are afraid that they cannot write well enough to make it work. That is just not true. All you really need is basic writing skills and a willingness to do it in order to be successful.
The above reasons are why I chose article marketing as my main traffic method for my website. I am really glad that I did because I have seen really positive results in the amount of traffic I receive. I am positive that you will too!
