A: I was a firefighter/paramedic in Los Angeles for 30 years. I responded to MAYBE 2 (two) marijuana calls in that whole time….and that was because the patient was “nervous”. Marijuana was not made a criminal substance because the government cares about your health. It had to do with Randolph Hearst and paper. Hearst owned vast forestlands …the trees became paper etc. Marijuana grows faster than trees. He did not want the competition is the bottom line. Used his influence to have it criminalized. Anyhow, booze is legal and taxed. I cannot tell you how much death and destruction I have seen with alcohol involved. Marijuana makes you laugh, want to eat, listen to music, make love and ….go to sleep when you are done with all that. I DO NOT smoke pot. I don’t care if you do. Don’t smoke and drive. Don’t go to work stoned. AND pot smokers tend not to be violent. If the government ever wanted to control the populace they would promote pot. Personally I like my whiskey….at 5 pm. I am also a Vietnam veteran ….and I am all for peace. I used to think the peace sign was a chicken footprint…..not anymore. Whirled Peas would be a great thing.
