Does Marijuana cause cancer? Or any major health problems.?
Q: Hello folks, I’m currently in my second year of University and began smoking marijuana early during my first year, only occasionally with a few friends on campus, or by myself if i want to take a bit of a load off after a hard day work.Only recently have I started to take a serious look at the side-effects of smoking and eating the plant. All and all I’ve gotten quite a few mixed views. Several government funded organizations and studies have found weed to be extremely dangerous, claiming that the drug can contain as much as 50 as the same carcinogens found in tobacco smoke.Like this study by the National Cancer Instituehttp://www.cnn.com/HEALTH/9808/18/marijuana.cancer/Any by this next study by the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (an affiliate of the NCI)http://www.fhcrc.org/about/ne/news/2009/02/09/marijuana.htmlBut at the same time, there are so many independent studies that contradict these claims. Like these four studies which found Marijuana to be extremely non-toxic.Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse. “Legalization: Panacea or Pandora’s Box.” New York. (1995): 36.Turner, Carlton E. The Marijuana Controversy. Rockville: American Council for Drug Education, 1981.Nahas, Gabriel G. and Nicholas A. Pace. Letter. “Marijuana as Chemotherapy Aid Poses Hazards.” New York Times 4 December 1993: A20.Inaba, Darryl S. and William E. Cohen. Uppers, Downers, All-Arounders: Physical and Mental Effects of Psychoactive Drugs. 2nd ed. Ashland: CNS Productions, 1995. 174.From my personal experience, thus far I haven’t noticed any respiratory problems or any real case of amotivational syndrome. Life has been pretty much the same, I wake up, go to the gym, work hard in school and then do it all over again. So whats the deal here? Is weed harmful or harmless? I’d like to hear your opinion
A: Smoking marijuana over an extended period of time appears to greatly boost a young man’s risk for developing a particularly aggressive form of testicular cancer, called nonseminoma, which accounts for about 40% of all cases. So if you’re a male, I’d stop.

A: Myth: Marijuana Interferes With Male and Female Sex Hormones. In both men and women, marijuana can cause infertility. Marijuana retards sexual development in adolescents. It produces feminine characteristics in males and masculine characteristics in females.Fact: There is no evidence that marijuana causes infertility in men or women. In animal studies, high doses of THC diminish the production of some sex hormones and can impair reproduction. However, most studies of humans have found that marijuana has no impact of sex hormones. In those studies showing an impact, it is modest, temporary, and of no apparent consequence for reproduction. There is no scientific evidence that marijuana delays adolescent sexual development, has feminizing effect on males, or a masculinizing effect on females.
Cousin is cancer survivor. She takes marijuana (illegaly) pain control (peripheral neuropathy). Which jobs…
Q: …which types of jobs are likely not often subject to drug testing? She was a nurse before cancer, and is currently on disability, but would like to train for a new, less physically demanding career, so she can get off disability one day.BTW…Chemo gave her permanent nerve damage and therefore chronic pain, so she needed pain control meds. Euphoric reactions, adverse reactions, allergic reactions, hypersentivity, etc. to a variety of expensive, damaging and/or addictive meds, including methodone and fentanyl, she studied alternatives, finally choosing marijuana and a vaporizer. It gives just enough relief, without causing physical or mental problems, or euphoric effect. After 1 year of light to moderate daily use, head is still clear and memory is still good. She refused to touch the stuff in all her 35 years pre-cancer, but at 38 she is using it for medicinal purposes, and doing very well with it. She won’t be trying anything else, so please, don’t preach.
A: Good luck, I think most companies now drug test. My mom died of cancer and pot was the only thing that helped with the nausea of chemo. If your friend could find a job that just test new employees only. She could use prescription meds for a month to get a clean drug test for pot. I don’t think it should be any companies business what someone does in there own home.
