Unfortunately many Americans associate the hookah with illegal drugs, but it’s far from that. In fact, it’s a HUGE no-no over here to smoke hash out of it. It’s used to smoke flavored tobacco. I had never smoked one until about six months ago (I’m in Iraq) and I really enjoy it! In fact, one of my Iraqi buddies bought me one a few months ago. It’s a really neat, culturally interactive thing to do. I hate that Americans assume it’s just for potheads. Check out the link below. I ordered tobacco from there and they have some REALLY pretty hookahs!

HOOKAHS ARE NOT USED FOR ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES. hookahs use shisha. shisha consists of (a) tobacco (b) glycerin/molasses/honey (c) and flavoring. there’s absolutely nothing illegal about it. So no, you’re not going to get or anything near it. what you might feel is a “buzz” from the nicotine. thats it. sorry if it seems like a rant, but i dislike the stigma attached with hookahs.
