What do you see as the most addictive drug and how do you break it’s grip?
Q: Please remember alcohol is a drug.
A: The insidiousness nature of addiction itself makes it impossible to define any ONE substance as ‘most addictive’.Addictions vary from individual. Some people are predisposed to addictions through genetics or environment, some seemed to be immune. Some people are hooked strung out on 1 type of drug and not interested in anything else; some want ANYTHING they can get their hands on to change the way they feel as soon as possible. Some people just smoke weed and don’t drink or anything else. Some people just like to drink. And then we have the ‘legal’ addicts who have doctor’s writing prescriptions for pills for pain etc… My own personal experience points to Crack being the most addictive drug. But I realize that it was perfect for me.Breaking addictions grip? Just as individual as the drug and people who are strung out on them. I have to recommend REACHING OUT FOR HELP and staying in contact with others who will help you maintain staying clean. 12 step programs with meetings are designed with these ideals. So are many other recovery programs. Isolation will make one continue using indefinitely. So not being alone is key.But you have to want to be clean and you have to work just as hard at getting clean as you did at obtaining your drugs(or alcohol) and getting high.
Is meth the most addictive drug out there? Who has done meth?
Q: I saw this thing on the internet today called faces of meth, and it shows the deterioration of meth addicts’ looks. It’s absolutely frightening. I was just wondering if it’s considered to be one of the most or the most addictive drugs out there? Also, just curious who has done meth, and what is the appeal?
A: Don’t misinterpret this response, but I don’t think meth is the MOST addictive drug out there. It is extremely addictive to most people and I’m not trying to downplay that. However, in my opinion, heroin is far more addictive. The main difference is that heroin causes physical withdrawal symptoms that can make you so sick you honestly feel like you have no choice but to go and get more heroin. It really can feel like you are dying. Meth withdrawal has cravings and you are usually depressed, lethargic, and grumpy but it’s mostly mental.
