Why is marijuana still illegal in the states?
Q: Why is marijuana still illegal in the United States? I dont really understand why. If the tobacco companies lobbied congress they could get them to make it legal. They in turn would make up all they have lost and more from selling cigarrettes and having to pay up the a*s for fines and lawsuits. The only reason I can figure out is that the government is already makng more money than if it way legal.
A: Let’s see…I am not going to go into too many details…but here are the basics….Government propaganda keeps the dumb down society in which we live in constant fear of it. Even though 99.99% of the comercials that they have on TV are bold faced lies. The Pharmaceutical companies don’t want it…they lobby the government. I mean come on…they are now making THC in pill form. What’s that telling you? They need to continue the “war on drugs” so that they can continually chip away at our privacy and civil liberties….(they now have it set that they don’t even have to knock on your door if they have a warrant…just bust on in)They need to keep inefficient government agencies such as the DEA and FBI going. they can’t put their friends out of work. The drug testing industry wouldn’t have it. Have to keep them in business. The US was chaos and the workforce was full of druggies before they started drug testing. The drug lords don’t want it. How would the drug lords make $$ if it was legal? Funny that they can catch a $50 dealer but not a multimillion dollar dealer. They cotton industry doesn’t want it. Hemp fiber is many times stronger than cotton. The cotton industry have lobbyist too.And the list goes on and on. Just as every other government BS law, if you follow the money you can figure it out.
What is the specific law which states that marijuana is illegal and where can I find it online?
Q: In a debate over states’ rights, the opposer adamantly states that the legality of marijuana is a state issue, and not a federal one. I know this to be false because if it was a state issue, there would be no DEA, californians would not be arrested by federal authorities for its medical use, as well as common sense. However, I can not back this up without the exact clause which states this.
A: The Controlled Substances Act of 1970 classifies marijuana as a Schedule I drug. Under the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution, Federal law in the United States preempts conflicting state and local laws. Personally, I think it should be an issue for the States, and the Federal government should stay out of it. But try to convince the people who make the laws.
Why is Marijuana illegal in the United States?
Q: Our government is supposedly run for the people, by the people, yet there seems to be a big disconnection between the government that runs our country, and the people that live in it in regards to the legalization of Marijuana. I bring this issue up because the state that I live in has an overcrowded prison system and I can’t imagine how many people are in there because of marijuana busts. I am interested in knowing the economic aspects if Marijuana was legalized versus not being legalized. Would a black market economy still exist? Would the people that were surviving off this income be forced to find another job? Are there countries that allow Marijuana? How does their crime rate compare to the United States? Violent crime. As humans we are destined to explore the farthest reaches. If Marijuana is a gateway drug, then lets consider it a gateway drug into our minds. The art, music, and creation that comes with it in our society can be amazing. What do you think?
A: You seem to know the answer already. It is illegal to keep the price up.George Carlin has some good ideas about ending the drug problem, they involve hanging the people at the top instead of the ones at the bottom of the trade.
