Q: I’m looking for something that can be placed in the vents in your apartment to eliminate or help reduce the smell from cigarrette smoke. I live in a basement apartment and we’ve replaced all furnisings and carpet and painted all the walls and my clothes still smell of stale smoke. In either situation, I would also recommend taking off the vent covers, cleaning them thoroughly with a product like krud kutter or 409…something that will get through the nicotine. Do the same with the ducts, as far as you can reach inside.
