I’m asking this in TTC because you guys are nicer…?
Q: Okay, I just need a reality check. Deep down I’m 98% sure I’m not pregnant, but I need to hear the experiences of others. I am 32 and have a nine month old son. My periods were regular – every 28-30 days, since about a month after he was born. My LMP was on 12/19/08 and it is now 1/27/09. I am nine days late. I have never in my life been nine days late. Not even a week late. I wasn’t having symptoms or anything, but I took an HPT and got a BFN. So last week, on 1/22/08, I had a blood test done – also negative. They actually checked me for all sorts of things, and everything was totally normal – all of my hormone levels seemed fine. Nothing indicated why I would be late. Then, on 1/25, I started cramping and peeing all of the time. I’m one of those women who can usually go all day without peeing. Now it’s like, every hour or two. Yesterday I had a serious migraine – which I only get the day before AF, but it hasn’t came. I’m so sleepy and tired! In the past, my dh and I only used condoms, but this past month we used spermicide only, which I know is not nearly as effective. Is it possible that I’m actually pregnant? I’m not TTC and it wouldn’t be the best timing for us, but I can’t figure out why AF hasn’t come and why I feel the way I do. I’m not stressed, haven’t been sick – haven’t changed my routine. What do you ladies think? Am I just crazy?Just to clarify, when I had the blood test done, they tested all sorts of things – like prolactin, estradol, fsh, thyroid- everything totally normal. 🙂
A: No you don’t sound crazy. I did have one time where I was 8 days late and swore I was pregnant, but I wasn’t, just really really late. But, if AF doesn’t come in a week or so, retest. Sometimes it can take a while to show on an HPT. It could also just be stress, etc that caused this late arrival. Best wishes, and you are right we are nicer on the TTC side!!
