question about a 6 week old and really fussy?
Q: My friends baby is 6 weeks old and he has had bronchitis, the ped didnt give him any antibotics for this. He went to the dr.s last week. Now today he has been really fussy all day, he has only pooped two times and he was running a slight fever of 99.8. Any ideals on what could be wrong? Or what to do?
A: if he had bronchitis then make sure u are watching for movement in his chest cavity, like if u can see him breathing or wheezng. rsv is a serious condition in which babies can die from, if he doesnt get better i would take him to the hospital in a week… fever isnt too bad. as long as its not over 100 ur fine, because we wrap our babies so tight teir normal temps are 99.3-5, but keep him bundled.
temperature question for 6 week old?
Q: I’m concerned about my 6 week old’s temperature as she had a fever earlier today, but I’m having trouble deciding what is accurate. I’ve taken it several times within a couple minute period and it’s changing quite a bit. Is it normal for a baby’s temperature to go up significantly when they’re upset? When she’s calm it’s reading about 98.7 and when she’s upset it’s reading around 99.1 – 99.7…any thoughts?
A: Well, think about it: When you get really upset or mad, you get hot. (at least most people do) This temperature rise is just fine if it’s hpapening when she’s real upset. If you get a consistanly high reading and she’s not mad, then ask her doc what to do.
