Q: I recently found out that an ex of mine has herpes and I wonder if I might as well. I have had this rash under mouth on and off for the past few years and when ever I went to the Dr.s they gave me mupirocin for it. I never thought to ask what it was that I have, but I think its impetigo. The rash spreads to the corners of my nose as well is small and crusts over. But with this last break out I noticed I had orangeish red spots on the back of my throat. Might just be coincidental.But what I’m asking, as I’m waiting for my Dr.s apt to come, is do you think this rash might be herpes? Does herpes always come in the form of cold sores on the mouth?

Q: I have been put on a medication called “Mupirocin” (Taro mupirocin”by my dr. I have a few round shaped open sores that were really nasty. All he told me was I have a skin infection and to use the stuff 4 times a day, and do a follow up in a week. I forgot to ask him what kind of infection this is, does anyone know what it could be?
