A: The sed rate shows that you have inflammation in your body somewhere but it is not a really good test. It is slow to rise and slow to fall so it isn’t as accurate as some other tests. It is good for following up on arthritis but a CRP test is better most of the time. In other words you could have been sick a month ago and been well for 2 weeks and still have a high sed rate because it falls so slowly. The sed rates measures the rate that the red blood cells fall down a column in one hour. This isn’t anything to panic about.

Q: Normal (High end) Platelets, High Neutrophils, Low Lymphocytes (What does it mean)?.My doctor asked me to go for blood test because he suspected LUPUS.In the report everything was normal except Neutrophils(High), Lymphocytes (Low), Platelets 2 pts from being too high. Sed Rate is also high. What does it mean. Does it signify any disease. I have a test two years ago too and the same thing in it but now it is higher. Im very worried regarding this report.
