FEMALE – LOSING HAIR!!! – HELP ME!?
Q: I’m 32 yrs old and in the last 2-3 months I have been rapidly losing my hair. I went to my dr.’s office to have it check out and all he came up with was that women at this age go through hormonal changes which can sometimes also cause hair loss, thought I was under a lot of stress and therefore prescribed some anxiety-relief medication and then ran a blood panel to rule out an under & over-active thyroid and lupus disease. My tests results came out just fine. Yes, its alarming to lose your hair – I now can see what guys might go through or feel. I’ve already had fine, thin hair, but now this!!! Argh! What should I do? I feel if I wait any longer it is only going to get worse. What if anything should I try or rule out that I haven’t looked into? Any suggestions?? Thanks for your help!!! 😐

BTW, if your thyroid test was low end normal, then you could benefit from thyroid treatment. I was losing hair too and feeling cold with low end thyroid for years until I finally found out my thyroid was low end normal. I then found a doctor who was willing to give me thyroid to raise my thyroid to middle normal and my coldness and hair loss disappeared. Ask your doctor about your thyroid numbers.Stress can absolutely cause hair loss.

My dachshund has some hair loss and his skin has darkened?
Q: I have a 3 yrs old mini dachshund, about 3 months ago he started showing some hair thinning, not very severe, and also the skin in his armpits and tummy started to get darker. The spots of thinning hair are in the sides of his head, thighs and neck. I took him to the vet and he got a scrape with negative results for mange or any other skin disease, he also got a blood test for low thyroid but fortunately came out negative too.The vet said he’s completely healthy and didn’t find anything that might be causing it.SHOULD I WORRY? should I get a second opinion? I go to dachshunds meetups and I see many dachshunds with the same but no one really knows what it is…Is it part of them aging? does your dachshund has shown these sympthoms?Thanx in advance :)I don’t think people is reading the whole information I wrote here…I SAID IS NOT MANGE he already got a scrape!!! and is not thyroid wither…It couldn’t be worms because he’s always been on HEARTWORM prevention, which also work with liveworms and roundworms…THANK YOU!
A: Definatly get a second opinion. It is probably a allergy Mine had the same thing. Put peroxide daily on him so he will not get infected and get him to another vet to get a second opionion Because he may need anitboitics.
