A: you shouldn’t worry. all kinds of birth control raise the risk of having a stroke or heart attack. every birth control affects every woman differently though. so just because someone else like a friend had a bad reaction to yaz (like a heart attack) doesn’t mean you will. if you have been on it for over a year you should be fine.

Q: Right after my doctor prescribed me to Yaz I start seeing all the commercials about how dangerous it could be, and all the things that has happened to people. Do you know anyone it has effected in a bad way?I also feel so sick after I take it, like I could throw up. Has this happened to any of you? Should I change birth controls?

A: I take Yaz too! I’ve been on it for like four months and yeah, the first month I was wicked nauseated and wicked moody. I guess it had wicked bad side effects. I heard a little about it too, but I just stayed with it because my dad doesn’t know I’m on it, only my mom, and it’s hard for me to go to the doctor generally. So, after like the first month, I’ve been totally fine. Except I missed one pill this month (DON’T DO THAT!) and I’ve been spotting for 3 weeks. -.-” I just stopped today finally. One thing my doctor told me to do about the getting nauseated thing was to take the pill right before bed. That way you don’t get super sick, and you’ll sleep it off. I suggest trying that. I set an alarm on my cell phone to go off at 10pm every night that way I know I’m taking it at the same time too. I’d say stick with it for at least the rest of your pack and then if you decide you want something with less side effects or it’s really really bothering you, try switching to a different pill. But I’d give it some time, because I got through it. The first month is just pretty harsh. ( a little into the second month too ) Hope I helped!!! :]
