Not sure it’s a good idea. If the chinese people who discovered tea knew that eating tea leaves would be good for bad congestion, it would have been an easy remedy. If it had any benefit at all, the chinese would have done it centuries ago.
Is it ok to eat oolong/green/black Tea Leaves??

if you have nothing to eat! kidding aside, people chew/eat some of the leaf that gets brewed during tea making. i do too. sometimes its fun. but its the wet leaf that gets consumed, not dry leaf – tried dry leaf, not my thing.

Does Lipton’s Citrus Iced Green Tea help to lose weight?
Q: I read in my newspaper that a research was conducted on green tea (either warm or iced), and that if you drink it instead of pop, juice, etc (not water), it helps you lose 10 lbs in 6 weeks because of some natural ingredient it contains (Ginkgo leaves perhaps?)I’ve been drinking Lipton’s Citrus Iced Green Tea for the past year or so without knowing this information and it is driving me crazy to know whether I should have switched it with brewed green tea or not. I’ve also heard that it is considered more of a soda than green tea.Any suggestions for new green tea ideas would be really great! Experiences with green tea are very welcomed as well!I know that just green tea won’t make me lose weight faster, and knowing that I have an hour of fitness planned out for every day (all 7 of the week, I use Jillian Michael’s first wii game for exercise and I do 50 situps) and I eat healthy and in control.
A: Loosing weight fast is always an unhealthy thing. There are many diets who tell you that you can loose a lot of weight in no time. And it is working, but you are doing no good to your body. And there’s also the Jojo-effect.The best thing to loose and hold a healthy weight is healthy food, less sugar, lots of drinking water, and sports.Diet has to begin in your head. And you already started to think about your nutrition. That’s an important step. It is too easy just to make a magazine-diet for 2-3 weeks and loose some weight. But it will come back soon again. If you are over-thinking your nutrition and activity, you will have a constantly good result. Isn’t that much better and healthier than a crash-diet ?- Healthy life every day!Take care,:-)
Did I eat healthy today? (good food, enough, to much?)?
Q: Ok so today for breakfast I ate 5 strawberries, 10 NATURAL almonds (not roasted or salted or anything) and 1 granny smith apple and a cup of green tea. Then around 2:00 I ate 3 scrambled egg whites with a little bit of onion and a tablespoon of cheddar cheese in it. At 4:47 I ate 1 cup of home-made soup which I made with fat free chicken broth, water, pee’s, carrots, onions, tomato’s, and spinach leaves. I waited for 30 minutes after eating the soup because i still felt hungry and after 30 minutes it didnt go away so I went and made a small salad with lettuce, cucumber and 2 tablespoons of salad dressing (5 calories per tablespoon). Then at 6:10 I had 1 cup of the same soup and 5 more natural almonds. I also drank a cup of green tea (no cream or sugar or anything both times I had it) Andd.. after i ate breakfast I went and did 30 minutes of cardio and 15 minutes of weight training, planning on doing some more exercise at about 7. Does that sound like I ate healthy? Did I eat to much or not eat enough? I’ve only had water and green tea to drink today. Also do you think this is a good diet to do if I want to lose 15 pounds?I’m sorry, I forgot to mention I’m a vegetarian, but I still eat eggs and dairy. And with the eggs, i actually messed up one of them so there was like half of an egg yolk with it anyways. I’m not really sure how to incorporate protein and iron into my diet? I normally make soups with beans in it, and vegetarian chili but i just made regular vegetable soup this time. And i took a multivitamine and B12 and vitamine CThank you very much for all of the answers so far, you’ve all given me alot of ideas and I realize i need alot more protein. From now on when I make soup i’m putting extra things in it for protein and I think im going to bring fish back into my diet and put tuna on my salads for my healths sake. Just another question, does anyone know any foods that are a high source of protein/iron/fibre that wont make me gain weight and arent meat? Thank you!!
A: Always always have some protein before you eat any carbs or veggies. Why cause protein is more filling and you’ll be less likely to binge on carbs.(which to many people are guilty of)You need to add some more protein. I like everything else. Move the 2:00 meal to breakfast alongside the strawberries and almonds. Maybe add 1 more egg white. Then next meal with homemade soup. Add some chicken, lean beef(beef is good kills hunger off better) or turkey on the side or in the soup. On that salad atleast drizzle some extra virgin olive oil with balsamic vinegar (if you like that stuff) instead of that other dressing (most are crap anyways) Add some more chicken, fresh fish or turkey to that salada also. Avocados are great to add to salads. Very nutrient dense and filling.the 6:10 meals is very good yet add some more protein here also. You should shoot for atleast 1 gram of protein X BWSo you didn’t eat enough. Why do I recommend so much protein? Well it’s thermogenic meaning your body actually burns calories digesting protein. While at the same time providing your body with vital amino acids that help in repairing many things in your body. Especially muscles if you workout consistently.Look at this way. Protein are building blocks(like bricks for a house) for the body. There are studies that show adding in more protein alone in ones diet helped them lose fat and add a bit of muscle.use http://www.fitday.com an AWESOME weight loss tool you can add to your arsenal. Send me a thank you card cause I know you’ll love it :Pyes also egg yolks aren’t bad for you they’re loaded with b-vitamins and they also help raise good cholestrol (hdl). I eat 6-8 egg omelettes sometimes and my cholestrol is perfect (hdl 57 above optimal) and bad cholestrol is pretty much non existent.
Question for Loose Leaf Tea Drinkers…?
Q: Howdy. I just switched over from tea bags to an awesome tea infuser, but a good amount of sediment (or smaller tea particles) still find a way through the infuser. Is the “sediment” okay to consume with the last sips? I read somewhere that green tea is sometimes even eaten alone, so I am assuming it is okay, but just want to be reassured or provided with a little info. Hopefully the particles make my brew even healthier Thanks for any info. Oh, I only brew green sencha leaves. would love other recommendations as well.
A: The tea dust in the sediment won’t hurt you if you don’t mind the texture. However, if you have a lot of it, it will continue to release tannins as it brews, which will give you an “off” bitter taste to the tea. I use a very fine mesh infuser and never get an appreciable amount of sediment in my cup.Don’t restrict yourself to just one variety of green tea. There are so many wonderful varieties out there. I use different kinds of black teas, red teas, white-leaf tea, blends of teas. You should experiment with different types to find what you like. Read up on tea varieties. I make a few of my own blends after trying many different types.
