Why does the breading fall off my chicken when I fry it?
Q: I like to make this chicken recipe in which you take tenders, then spread some country dijon mustard on them, then cover them in bread crumbs, then fry’m up. The problem is that the breading always falls apart on me. Any suggestions for what I might be doing wrong?
A: Looks like every things in order, I take it you’ve made these before and had the same problem? It sounds to me there’s no cohesion between the chicken and mustard, my suggestion would be to dust the tenders with cornstarch before applying the mustard and that should make ever thing stick together, good luck
Why does the breading come off my Chicken Breasts when frying them?
Q: Every time I try to fry Boneless Chicken Breasts, all of the coating and breading comes off. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I usually dip the Breasts in egg and then flower it, then use some breadcrumbs. Am I missing something?
A: Like precious posters on here, the order is a little off. Flour, Egg Wash, then breadcrumbs is the order. May also try soaking chicken in buttermilk overnight, then do that order, adds a great flavor and helps in the binding of the breading. another cause could be your oil temp. If your oil tempature is too low, that can also contribute to your breading coming off. Makes sure your oil is at or above 350 degree’s, if you get below 300, it alows oil to get soaked up into breading, making it fall off, or become way to greasy. Good luck.
Does chicken with breading have a lot of carbs?
Q: Like chicken strips or nuggets that you fix in the oven? I’m starting a low carb diet of just meat, eggs, veggies, and I was wondering if I should take the breading off of my chicken before I eat it, or if it will make a difference in my diet.
A: The bread is where the carbs are. The chicken is virtually carb free, drop the bread crumbs if you are on a low carb diet. You are better off buying mini chicken breasts and just cooking those by frying gently.
