Q: I have been going to the gym about 3 times a week for the past month and have lost like 11 pounds but i cant really see any difference. i want to lose ten more pounds by January 28th. What else can I do besides running and bicycling at the gym? will lifting weights help me lose weight or just build muscle? Also is there a good exercise to get rid of love handles? ew. A: 10 lbs through out your entire body won’t be noticed that much. Make it another 10, and you probably will.Running and cycling would work great and are great exercises. You could try to increase your intensity of the exercises by adding ares of incline to the running and cycling (if the cycling machine supports the ability). Like previously stated, lifting weights can burn off calories depending on the intensity, but it will also add muscle to your body which can slow your weight loss efforts, by the numbers. If your main goal right now is to lose the weight, do that. If you wanted to add definition, do that after you reach your weight goal.Also, about the love handles, you will just have to continue with the cardio. You will not be able to spot reduce fat. It will come off where your body tells it to. Doing a certain exercise will not help your body into remove fat in that location. Just be patience and be persistent, you will get the results you want.

This may not be the answer you were wanting to hear, but it could be true (I do not know how much you weigh). I know several people who were morbidly obese or significantly overweight who have no problem dropping 10 lbs in a month, but if your BMI is only marginally overweight (<30), you should not be aiming for that high a weight loss.To lose a healthy amount of weight:1.
