- Does food aversion go away after pregnancy?
- Q: Since about 6 weeks after becoming pregnant I have been dealing with food aversions. I used to love salsa, veggies, these black bean tacos and coleslaw I used to make and now I can't eat them. I would love to eat them but I heave when I try. I can eat some veggies like salad and such but other things are really tough. Any thoughts? Will this ever go away?I am currently 20 weeks pregnant and not nauseated but definately don't want certain types of food.

I can say the smell of coffee still reminds me of making me sick but I can drink it...I just don't enjoy it as much as I did before however I never drank it much even before I was pregnant. People have told me that it gets better but a few people once they were pregnant never again liked a few things like one person hates spagetti now.
- How to feed a 6 months old baby with Food aversion?
- Q: She doesn't want to take any oral feed. What can I do to feed her? Will it ever get better?
- A: its common for babies to play with their food more than eat it, at this age. right now its more about learning to use their mouths to eat from a spoon and how to swallow thicker substances (as opposed to milk) just keep trying, its all you can do. don't expect her to eat a three course meal...look it as a bit of a game at this age and she doesn't have to get it just right yet. she's still learning. if you worry she is missing out on nutrients you could take her to the doctor to make sure and ask questions about it...but as long as she's gaining weight and isn't acting hungry between meals i wouldn't be too worried. :) good luck!
- What was/is your food aversion while pregnant?
- Q: Is there something that you loved when you weren't pregnant, now you just can't stomach it?For me i loved cheese burgers from MacDonald's, with lots of onion on it, now the taste of the onion makes me throw up instantly.
- A: For the first 4 months or so... All food was my enemy. It was hard to make myself eat anything because just the sight of food made me feel like I was going to be sick. :( At 28 weeks though, I would have to say my worst aversion is anything with onions and mushrooms in it. I love my grandmother's roast meals that she makes with lots of onion, mushroom and gravy... She made it for me last week and blech! I couldn't touch it :(
