does Bayer or any pain killers like that work for headaches caused by caffeine withdrawal?
Q: I have a caffeine addiction and my Dr. told me to take aspirin or Bayer instead of having more coffee. It never seamed to work before but she insists that it does. as far as i know she doesn’t have or ever had an addiction to caffeine.
A: She told you to take that because caffeine is an ingredient in it. If your doctor drinks coffee or tea or soda frequently she probably has a caffeine addiction too. Most people who drink these do and get these headaches too. If I don’t drink coffee in the morning I get one too and the aspirin is the first thing I reach for and it does work. If it’s not working for you try taking an extra one or getting and extra strength version. There is a powdered headache medication called Goodies and it has a lot of caffeine in it. You just mix it with a small amount of liquid and drink it and then of course follow it with more liquid because the taste isn’t great. There is also another one called BC but I have found that the Goodies works best> So good in fact that the taste doesn’t bother me because I know my headache will be gone very soon.
Does caffeine work the same way sugar does?
Q: In terms of providing energy and alertness, is it having the same effect on the mind? The brain needs sugar to operate, and so lots of sugar creates an elevated state of alertness and wakefulness, but does caffeine work the same way?If I drink coffee to regain alertness when my sugar high suddenly wears off, is that bad?
A: Sugar and caffeine, to my knowledge, do not work in the same way.Sugar provides energy to your body. With an increased energy level, you are likely to be more awake and focused. As this energy is used up, you’re likely to become less focused or have a crash.Caffeine, however, is actually a weak psychoactive drug. It stimulates the brain and nervous system but does not actually provide energy. This is one of the reasons that people tend to crash after their caffeine “highs” wear off.
