It depends on how long you sweat. Sweat is water and water is weight. You can also have problems if you dehydrate. It is not a long term solution for weight loss.

Does sweating make you lose weight?
Q: Hello,This is actully gonna be a two part question, so ill start out with the first one. How does your body lose weight? What I mean by that is, is it the sweating during excersise, or does it drop whilst your body is asleep? This question has always troubled me, now I wish I payed attention is biology hehe. Now the second question, should I wear my big, hoodie jumper to create more body heat, to make me sweat more whilst working out in the gym? I see alot of people in videos use big hoodie jumpers, but cant understand why, is it so they sweat more so they lose more weight, or so there body needs more water etc? These are most likely silly questions, but I just wanted your advice :).Thank you.
A: You sweat to cool your body off. The act of sweating does not make you lose weight, it’s the activity (exercise) that’s burning the calories, but by exercising, you’re raising your body temperature, so you sweat. Someone can sweat like a pig at low exertion, and someone else may not sweat but still work harder and lose more calories. However, sweating can be an indicator to how well you’re pushing yourself, but it’s by far not the best (heart rate and RPE – rate of perceived exhaustion are).As for WHEN, it occurs during the day. You burn the calories during your exercise, but you also burn the calories after you exercise as well, since your body is repairing itself. (You burn more calories post resistance training than post cardio.) Your weight will fluctuate throughout the day (water, food, defecation), which is why it’s best to track your weight loss at a single time everyday (after you woke up and went to the bathroom, but before you eat).As for wearing a hoodie at the gym, people wear them while warming up because their body is still cool, and they may feel cold. During a workout, it’s not necessary to wear a sweater because your body should be warmed and in the middle of the activity. After you’ve exercised, your body is still actively cooling you down, so post-workout you will be colder than when you’ve started. That’s why you wear sweats after you’ve exercised. You will sweat more if you wear a jacket while exercising, but it’ll be water weight, which is gained back after you’ve re-hydrated. Unless you’re a boxer trying to make a weight class, it’s pointless to lose weight this way.ETA: If you want to maximize weight loss, high intensity interval training (go all out every minute or so for 30-45 seconds) with weight training (tricep dips, push-ups, pull-ups, planks, squats, lunges) and a reasonable diet will garner more results than extra layer of clothes, trying to combine weight training with cardio (bad idea to run with hand weights), or drinking cold water instead of warm water.
How long does it take you to walk 1km?

Does Colon cleanse really help you to lose weight?
Q: Last month I weighted 163….now I am 187. This sounds impossible to me. I have tried everything to lose weight but nothing seems to be working. One of my co-workers told me that it might be alot of water weight. She says that I am retaining my water ( whatever that means). I do drink alot of water but I also sweat it off when I excersise. I really want to get rid of this extra weight. But if you look at me you can’t tell that I weight 187. But I can tell. I was thinking about getting a colon cleanser, thinking that I have alot of waste in my body that I need to get rid of… but I don’t know. Has anyone ever done a colon cleanse? And does it really make you lose weight?
A: I never had it to lose weight and that was never mentioned, but it sure did feel good once cleansed.
