Q: I was wondering...i have been going to the barthroom a lot lately, and was wonding if the 4 slimfast shakes a day (besides eating other food, and fruit) is too much fiber???...hmmmm bathroom about 3 times a day.
A: Of course it does. Slimfast shakes don't have that much fiber in them. What----5 grams per shake? Even drinking 4 a day....that's 20 grams. You need to consume about 20-30 grams of fiber a day. Your body is just not used to it---but it will. If you are going to the bathroom 3 times a day---it's because you NEED to. You literally have a lot of crap in your colon.I would not drink that many shakes, though. It's too much--and too much sugar. Replace 2 of the shakes with whole grains and vegetables.

A: It makes you poop because as it absorbs water in your intestines it stimulates peristalsis to occur better by expanding in your intestines and collecting all the poop. (Peristasis = The wave like muscular contractions of your alimentary canal.)

A: It makes it softer (but not diarrhea) and more regular. So maybe not a lot of poop, but at regular times throughout the day. Also, it makes you cramp less, so when you really have to go, it won't make you sick. (it happens to some people, maybe not you though.)
