Q: I have very bad ibs I have had 2 colonoscopy and they don’t find anything abnormal. I take fiber pills which my doctor recommend But latelly i feel like this is controling my life. I work about 25 miles from home and every morn I am afraid to leave. When this hits me i cannot make it to a bathroom. When it hits me this is no warning and I can not hold it. A: If they didn’t find anything abnormal, then I would look to another cause other than IBS. I had the same symptoms and it was my gallbladder. It didn’t hurt for the first couple years, just got the trots right after I ate. Or I would have cramping that I thought was just from my intestines. So if nothing showed on the scope, I think it is unlikely this is really ibs. I would look for another cause. Try this for three days…don’t eat any grain product other than rice. So meat, rice, veggies and fruit with no bread. If you don’t have an attack, you could be intolerant to gluten in grains.
