What is wrong when there is numbness in your breasts?
Q: I got to pay ever time I see the doctor so I don’t want to go there and nothing be wrong. Most of the time I feel the nubness when I am lying down. I hope I don’t have breast cancer. I also have had a child and tryed breast feeding if that got something to do with it, but it has been like 7 months since then. Tell me what you all think? Could this be a sign for anothere child?
A: This is not something that can be resolved by a bunch of uninformed strangers. I honestly have no idea what is causing the numbness, but you should not ignore it. If you really can’t afford a doctor right now, look into finding a free clinic or perhaps a planned parenthood in your area, and get yourself checked out! Parts of your body don’t go numb for no reason.
I think i may have BREAST CANCER? :/?
Q: I dont know if its just me worrying that im going to die if i DID have it (cause i am an Anxiety sufferer!) but i just watched a video on YouTube on how you do a self-examination on your self to check for signs of breast cancer & one of te signs were inverted nipples? like pushed in? & sometimes my nipples do that but when i stimulate them they come out? & another sign was saggyness of the skin? but my breasts have always kind of been saggy due to cause i have big boobs? im only 21 but should i be worried? also i know that a lump in the breast can be a sign of breast cancer but when i feel my breasts with my hands i feel all these little like lumps but is that just normal lump tissue lumpiness? does every woman have them lump things in their breast? i know that if you have a lump in your breast 90% of the time its not cancer, its just usually a cyst or something? do you think i should be concerned about them 2 things i have in my breasts? Also ive always had these white lumps on my areolas what is that from? I do have a 2yr old son & i did not breast feed so what are they also? Thanks. & sometimes i get lumps in my armpit then they go away after a while? thats also a sign?
A: I wouldn’t worry about it. First of all, having your nipples invert once in awhile is normal, especially if they have always done so (inverting, then coming out later). Second, since your breasts have always been a little saggy, this is also something you should not worry about. Third, several tiny lumps your are feeling in both breast is just breast tissue. Since you are only 21, your breasts are going to be a lot more “lumpier” then say, a woman who is in her 50’s. Now, any changes that have happened suddenly is a cause for concern. For example, if suddenly the skin on your breast suddenly changes in a way it never has before (like an orange-peel type texture on your skin, or if one breast is red and very warm to the touch. Then, if suddenly one nipple becomes inverted and irritated for more than a day, often accompanied by pain. Also, since both breasts are a bit lumpy, saggy, and both nipples are inverting once in awhile, this is EVEN MORE reason not to worry about a serious problem, especially breast cancer. When you have an inverted nipple, a change in skin, or a lump in ONLY ONE breast and not the other, then that is the time to be concerned. I would not worry at all. Also, your breast tissue becomes more lumpy about a week before and after your menstrual cycle. Tissue will also become more lumpy in both breasts if you eat a lot of chocolate and drink a lot of caffeine. Not only can this cause unharmful lumps, but it can cause fibroadenomas which are benign tumors of the breast but sometimes cause pain. So women should cut back on chocolate and caffeine. But once again, don’t be concerned, your situation sounds perfectly normal.
