what are some good and bad things about taking birth control pills?
Q: it doesnt matter what kind of birth control pills or anything specific. I just need to know in general what are some good and bad things about taking birth control pills. And i need a good answer by the end of today. (May 29th, 2008) Whoever gives me the best answer by the end of today will get a best answer(10 points)
A: good:-regulated period-is known to reduce acne-sex with no condom (more spontaneous sex)-more effective as birth control than a condom (i think, since i have condoms break)-you dont have to go to the bloody convenience store when you want to have sex, and realize youre out of condomsbad:-if you miss a pill, you have to wait 7 days to have sex with no condom again, although its still taking a risk-its only 99% effective, but honestly, i think that that 1% of women that say they were on the pill, didnt ever miss one, and still got pregnant, are lying! they probably did miss a pill and dont want to admit it.-antibiotics (for fighting a bad cold/flu/infection, etc), will cancel out the pills effectiveness for the entire month. (just a heads up)-may cause random mood swings, aka, major pms, when youve been taking them for a while. my sister experienced this a little after a year of taking them, but i havent, and its been a year for me.-you have to remember to take one every day, around the same time. i suggest scheduling it into your cell phone to remind you. -they cost money, but depending how often you have sex, buying comdoms may turn out to cost just as much-some people have a problem with screwing around with their hormones. they say it isnt natural. i kind of agree, but im confident that i wont go sterile because of the pill. however im totally skeptical of these to HPV vaccinations for women. its been known to cause birth defects and make women sterile. my doctor says i should still consider it, but i just dont trust it. dont trust any new pill or vaccination that hanst been around for at least 10-15 years, because otherwise you dont know what the long term effects are. birth control pills have been around since the 70’s by the way.

My Dr. wants me to go on the birth control Yaz. Ladies, any advice? Side effects? Heard bad things about it!?
Q: I have read some really bad things about Yaz from women who are currently on it. When I went to the Yaz web site it of couse glorified the drug. I am torn! What should I do? Advice ladies? I would love to hear from anyone that is on it or has taken it!
A: I went on it to manage my peri-menopausal symptoms, and it’s been about 85% fantastic. My major gripe is that my sex drive has dropped a bit, but even that’s not a huge drawback. The plus side is that my periods are 2 days of spotting versus 10 days of debilitating bleeding (even on another pill!), zero cramps, no mood swings, no cravings, no crankiness. And I LOST 10 lbs! Overall, its pretty good. But like I warn with any contraceptive, what works for one person may not be good for another. The ONLY way you will know for sure is to try it. The blessing of the pill is the fact that after a few months if you don’t like it, you can always change.Personally though, I think you’re going to like it just fine.
