What Should I Do To Prevent A Miscarriage?
Q: So Me And My Fiance Have Been Pregnant Once And About Month And A Half Into The Pregnancy I Had A Miscarriage, I Don’t Known Why. So If You Could Pleases Tell Me Things I Could Do Or Stop Doing To Avoid That To Happen Again.. And Also My Friends Told Me That Some Medicines Can Cause It And That I Might Have Taken Some That Could Have Caused It Without Knowing. Please Help Me. I Would Really Appreciate It. Right Now I Am 3 Almost 4 Weeks Into My Pregnancy And I Don’t Want To Lose This One To.
A: One reason for miscarriage is stress, so try to relax. I’ve had a miscarriage my self. I was devastated, but then many women and friends came to me and told me they too had a miscarriage. Seems like it’s taboo subject and of course women don’t brag about it, so you don’t hear about it unless they know you had one too.My advice is keep communication open with your OBGYN and keep trying.I did and now have two wonderful crazy teens….
Miscarriage Questions?
Q: I have no personal experience with miscarriages, so I need your help on this. I am 7 weeks pregnant and have been having a lot of cramping. It is centered in my belly right where my uterus is, so I don’t think it is a potential tubal pregnancy or ovarian cysts (I had those with my last one). Also, a lot of pain in my lower back. My questions are:1. Is there anyway to know for sure that you are miscarrying? What exactly will it be like at this gestation?2. Is there any steps I should take to help prevent it?3. Is going to the doctor if you suspect a miscarriage always a necessity? I have know people who said they had one but didn’t go because they said nothing could be done.4. What if I continue to have these pains but no bloody show? Could that be a sign of an incomplete one?5. How do you tell the difference between the bleeding that sometimes accompanies pregnancy and an actual miscarriage?Sorry, I know it is a lot of questions. I would just prefer personal experiences over any thing that I might find to read, I think it is always better. Thanks for all your help!
A: 1. Is there anyway to know for sure that you are miscarrying? What exactly will it be like at this gestation? The only way to know for sure is to get a doctors opinion… unless you are passing a lot of tissue.2. Is there any steps I should take to help prevent it?Sometimes. It really depends. Usually no, because there is something wrong with the baby, so your body is expelling it… If it is threatened and you don’t actually miscarry, they may tell you to get lots of rest… they can also stitch your cervix closed if that is the problem.3. Is going to the doctor if you suspect a miscarriage always a necessity? I have know people who said they had one but didn’t go because they said nothing could be done.I went to the ER both times, because I was freaking out. They ended up not doing anything to help the situation. The first time I went, they had me in the waiting room for TWELVE hours… I kid you not. When I finally went back, they took my blood and did an exam, told me to come back the next day for an ultrasound, but I did not go. I decided I wanted to pass naturally. I did not have a D&C. The second time, I went due to bleeding (like the last time) and cramps… They did a transvaginal ultrasound and determined I was miscarrying. I let that pass naturally as well.4. What if I continue to have these pains but no bloody show? Could that be a sign of an incomplete one?I believe so, but you can also have cramping for other reasons in pregnancy. Your body is stretching and making room for the uterus. Every pregnancy is different, so even if you’ve had other children and never experienced this, does not mean that it can’t happen to you. I would make an appointment with the OBGYN or go to the ER just to be safe.5. How do you tell the difference between the bleeding that sometimes accompanies pregnancy and an actual miscarriage?I believe they say if it is bright red to be concerned. I knew that I was miscarrying both times because there was clotting and it was just like a heavy period.
Is it safe to use Modus-10(GSK)in the first month of pregnancy?
Q: I have been married for 3 years. One and half years ago, Unfortunately,I had an miscarriage at the 8th week of my pregnancy and had a D&C. Now we r planning for conceiving. We consulted a Gynecologist on Aug 19, (it was the 5th day of my periods ) she prescribed me 2 tablets . Anolet for 5 days and Evadiol for 14 days.. She also advised me to get 3 sonogram on the 10th, 12th and 14th day of my period. I had undergone first sonogram and it was Normal. On the same day, she prescribed One HCG injection , in order to rupture.Second sonography also done and she told me that it ruptured. and she prescribed another tablet Modus-10, for 10 days.I don’t know what is the use of this medicine, and I really scared when I had gone through internet. It sounds like it will prevent miscarriage , at the same time, the mother who has taken Modus-10 in her first 4 months of pregnancy, It will increase the risk of damaging fetus. After reading this, I am in great trouble..Should I take this medicine.? Will it cause any problem?? Till date I never started this medicine. I have to start this tablet within 2 days. I am in Dilemma… Please advice me….. Eagerly waiting for suggestion………. Thanking you…..
A: Oh this is horrible. I can only imagine how stressed out and worried you are right now. I think this is more of a personal choice. I have had a misscariage and know the pain it causes. But theres a chance to harm the fetus aloso by taking this medicine. The only advice I can give you is to think long and hard about it. You will be in my thoughts. Gl to you
