Peanut Butter Recall?
Q: My mom bought the Great Value brand of Peanut Butter and when she heard about the recall, she went and got the unopened jar out of the cabinet to check the lid. She couldn’t find the code, so I looked, I couldn’t find it either. The only code on the jar is the bar code and the code under the sell by date…..what should we do since we can’t find a code?thanks to everyone that answered…we were thinking about throwing it out but just wanted to get second opinions.
A: return to the store you bought it and get your money back..the store will handle it from there
My Husband Hates (I mean HATES) Peanut Butter. Should I divorce him?
Q: See, he and I met and fell in love and everything was absolutely great. Originally he lied to me. I made Peanut Butter Cookies and he told me he loved them. Ok, well….I can forgive him for that, I suppose. I tried to make it work. I got knocked up and had a baby (via C-section, in case that matters) so then we were stuck together. (like Peanut Butter & Jelly-he can be the Jelly). You see the dilemma? I mean, what was I supposed to do? Leave him over one small lie about my cookies? I really do believe he Loves my cookie, just not my Peanut Butter cookie. Anyway, to make a long story short…I just don’t know if this is something I really can deal with forever. I’m not happy. Any time I try to please him he turns me down. Tonight I asked him if I could make him a Peanut Butter and chocolate cake for Thanksgiving. He said absolutely not. Make a pecan or pumpkin pie. All my efforts, all my love, all of it…. Everything is just useless. Pointless. I love Peanut Butter and I want to live a long, happy life with a man who is ok with that, and supports that. I don’t see how I can make this work. Should I just get divorced?
A: I know how you feel. I went through something similar with my husband. I made him a lovely seafood platter and he had the nerve to refuse to eat it! can you believe that? I mean what kind of lame @ss excuse is seafood allergies? If he loved me he would have eaten it….Anyway he didn’t. I was shattered and betrayed but I tried my hardest to get over it for the sake of my marriage. Nothing made me feel better that’s why I cheated on him….Don’t judge me. I felt betrayed. That coupled by the fact he only had sex with me twice that day, I felt neglected. So I went to the other room and that’s where I did it….I watched porn. I can now go about life knowing that we are even for our misdeeds. He betrayed me so I betrayed him. In case you haven’t spent enough time on Y/A to know:***Yes guys porn is cheating!****
Peanut Butter and Bacon…What are some creative ways to incorporate these two ingredients into a recipe?
Q: Now first off, I don’t wanna hear any LIP from all you Naysayers who might immediately think and say, “Peanut Butter…and BACON!!? EEEEEWWWWW!!!” If you’ve never tried these two together, you have no idea what you are missing. This is a great Southern tradition and even the master chef, Paul Pruhdomme, in his famous K-Paul’s Kitchen in New Orleans incorporates a peanut butter and bacon hor’dourve in his menu for private parties, so no, I’m not making this up or am I playing with food, thank you. Cajun cooks can appreciate what I’m talking about. Now I have a family member who is an absolute junkie for bacon, even though it’s not the best for you, health wise. She alway prepaes bacon in the morning and there is usually some left over, so my typical habit is to incorporate it into a peanut butter and bacon sandwich, although I also add mayonaisse and onions which really brings out the flavors. Don’t knock it til you try it, Bubba! It is DEE-LISH!But other recipe ideas?Of course, I (and anyone else with internet) can just Google “peanut butter and bacon” and come up with recipes. But I prefer recipes that the person has actually tried and knows is a proven winner or a crowd pleaser.I like Thai food with peanut butter, coconut milk and curry. I also like Italian Fettuccinni Carbonara with bacon in a cream sauce. But I’ve not found too many quick and easy recipes for peanut butter and bacon together besides a sandwich or something on a cracker.I do a lot of cooking so ease of preparation is not my sole criteria. I prepare many elaborate meals too. I’m just looking for new ideas that bring out these two flavors that I might share with others and not be accused of making up some crazy dish that’s never been tested. So if the recipe has a name and a history, that adds to the credibility if I serve it to others. Get it?
A: Since you asked, I love peanut butter and bacon on cold pizza. Like you, I know that it sound horrible but it is awesome. I use any cold leftover pizza (except pepperoni), put peanut butter on top and sprinkle bacon bits on it. I love it with thin crust pizza, however, and crust will do. On the other hand, I have never tried to make a pizza with peanut butter on top but that is an idea.
