How early will the cervix close after a complete miscarriage?
Q: I went to the hospital with what I thought was a miscarriage. I was there about 3 hours and while I was there passed alot of blood and some clotting, with major cramps. When they did a pelvic exam my cervix was closed. In the ultrasound everything looked normal with no sign of baby. The ER doctor told me not to worry and wait 5 days to see what the HCG level are then, they are 400 now. Does anyone know how quickly a cervix will close after miscarriage?
A: After a miscarriage your cervix opens, this usually happens after your HCG levels are nonexistent but it can take weeks or months. It depends on your body.
For anyone whose had a miscarriage….?
Q: So im 14 weeks pregnant. I have an appointment on Friday. My morning sickness doesn’t seem to want to go away though and even though I’m eating and not throwing up I’m losing weight. I lost 5 lbs in two days. Overall I started this pregnancy at 129lbs and now I’m down to 122. I lost a baby to miscarriage three years ago and had the typical miscarriage signs of bleeding and cramps. What I’m wondering is if anyone lost their baby without the typical signs of miscarriage but lost alot of weight. I’m concerned that I’ve miscarried bc of my rapid weight lost even though I’ve been eating. If anyone has gone through this please let me know. Thanks!
A: If you’ve been sick it’s normal that you lost weight. I’m 19 weeks, and I’ve got a belly, but I lost so much weight in the beginning that I’m still lower than my pre-pregnancy weight. You may have just been bloated, and then it eased up, which would cause you to lose weight rapidly too. Still having pregnancy symptoms is a great sign that you haven’t miscarried. I know that it’s really scary after you’ve had one, but at this point in your pregnancy your chance of miscarriage is super low. I think it’s safe for you to stop worrying so much – I hope your doctors appointment helps you relax so you can enjoy your pregnancy!
What are the signs of a late miscarriage……say after 16 weeks?
Q: I know that miscarriages that happen within the 1st 12 weeks can go undiagnosed (Missed miscarriage), when there is no bleeding or cramping, and the next doctors visit reveals that the baby died few weeks back. But, is that possible in the second trimester? Or do 2nd trimester miscarriages always come with bleeding, cramping etc? Thanks!
A: all miss carriages end in bleeding one way or the other, the baby can die sadly at 6 months and it not be picked up for a while that it is dead, one is spontaneous the other is delayed, both happen at any time
