Help after Miscarriage..?
Q: My boyfriend and I just lost our baby at a little over 5 weeks this past Monday. I am 23, and he is 32. This is my second miscarriage (first one was on accident when I was 18 and wasn’t very hard to deal with) but this one was very much planned. We were soooo excited.. already bought pregnancy books and parenting books and was eating healthy etc…I am very concerned since this is my second miscarriage at around 5 weeks. This time when I ended up in the er.. they found a small ovarian cyst as well which was causing me a ton of pain during the miscarriage.I guess what I am asking is there anyone out there that had a similar situation?? Did you end up having a full term pregnancy? Im so scared that we wont be able to have a baby or that ill have to go thrugh this situation again. I have a dr. appt tomorrow and I know I should be asking her all these questions but i would love to hear some insight from people that have actually gone through this themselves. How do you deal with the pain emotionally? Im normally a very level headed, easy going person but this is eating away at me every day. This could easily be the worst thing that has happened to me in a long time and am hoping it gets better. Any help would be so greatly appreciated.God Bless…
A: I am so sorry for your loss! I had an eptopic pregnancy at 8 weeks and I feel your pain very much! That was the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with. Your doctor will probable do an untrasound to see how your ovaries look. If there are cyst, she will be able to tell you about them and also give you medication to get rid of them and you will be just fine. The fact that you are able to conceive is a huge plus! so she will be able to help you! good luck and my thoughts are with you!

A: half of pregnancies end in miscarriage prior to the 6 week mark which is when the heartbeat can be seen. half of all pregnancies don’t make it that far. You don’t hear about it because people don’t talk about early miscarriages or miscarriages in general very much. and a lot of women did not even know they were pregnant in that time. it might be even higher than half of all pregnancies as so many women may not have known they were pregnant. If I were you I would talk to my dr about getting full lab work up for recurrent pregnancy loss. some insurance will not cover it until you have had three but it is worth asking for. i paid cash for my lab work as i did not want to lose another before i found out. a friend of mine lost six and it ended up being a genetic vitamin deficiency that was fixed through taking ten times the recommendation of a particular vitamin. she has a three year old boy now. I lost two pregnancies, one at 4 weeks and one at six. after much searching they think it was most likely sperm quality to blame, as we had gotten pregnant through ivf for male factor infertility. I am pregnant now. Baby due in one month. i think you push for every test, do all the homework and research you can and keep trying. good luck and i am so sorry for you loss. after the second loss i hid in my room for two days and then forced myself to get out of the house.. then i went on vacation with a good friend as my husband could not get away. i cried a lot and did not want to talk to anyone. and i educated myself.
Is lower back pain normal during early pregnancy? Or could I be having a miscarriage?
Q: Back in June, I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy. I was 8 weeks 5 days when I went in for my first appointment but the baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks. I had a little spotting around week 5 but nothing other than that. My boobs grew an entire size, I was tired, sick, and my back hurt. We were shocked to find I had had a missed miscarriage. Upon advice from my doctor, I waited two cycles after my D & C to start trying again. We concieved the first month. I am 6 weeks 4 days today. We do not go to the doctor until 8 weeks 3 days. My lower back has been hurting again like it did last time. Its not horrible, its just dull and constantly there once I wake up and start moving around. I feel great in the morning after I have rested, and it feels fine when I lay down. My doctor put me on progesterone this time. I take 200 mg twice a day orally. My boobs have not grown, but I am EXHAUSTED! Much more tired than I was the first time. I get a little nauseated during the day, but have not felt like throwing up yet. I am terrified I am having another miscarriage. Can anyone tell me if it is normal for my back to hurt like this? I know that it can be a sign of miscarriage. I have not had any bleeding this time. Yesterday, I had a mucasey brown string but it was tiny. I saw it in the toliet after I used the bathroom. It was literally the size of my pinky nail. Please advise!
A: Early in my pregnancy, I had dull back pain similar to what you experience when you get your period. No bleeding is a good sign. Brown spotting is also common this early. I had it as well. The fact that you are exhausted is a good thing. Thats how you are suppose to feel! Try not to worry to much. I know its easier said than done but if you are going to miscarry, there is nothing you can do about it unfortunately. Your symptoms sound normal to me. I felt like I was getting my period for the first few weeks of my pregnancy and couldn’t believe I was pregnant, but it all worked out for me. I am sure you will be ok! Good luck!
