Depression over miscarriage…?
Q: I had a miscarriage nearly a year ago. I am 25 weeks pregnant now and sometimes I still can’t help getting depressed over it. Any ideas on how to distract myself from it rather than sitting around dwelling on what could have been?
A: You have a right to feel depressed because of your miscarriage. Time heals many things but there is no permanent cure for mourning.Start to prepare for your new baby, work on baby names, get a pregnancy book and take prictures and scrap book them, spend time with family and doing things you won’t have time for when the baby gets here, take prenatal classes with your mate and prepare for your delivery.I know there is nothing worse than the loss of a child and I wish you well with the new baby and your future.
Help! I cant get over miscarriage!?
Q: It’s been a little more than a year and I STILL cannot get over a miscarriage I had. I find myself crying nearly everyday about it. It was an unintended pregnancy but I wanted it so badly when I found out I was. I’m not ready for a baby financially but I’m so tempted to try again. I’m graduating from college this May, but I’m not even married yet. I’m with a man I’ve been with for over 4 years… He doesn’t want kids right now but I do. How can stop tempting myself, because I’m ready to just have a baby now despite all logical reasons not to. I just cannot get over miscarriage… What can I do?!?!I do know that it would be stupid for me to have a child now. Yet I’ve been crying over this for so long I feel like the only way to get over this is for me to have a baby. I just wish there was a way I could get over feeling this way because I’m so tempted to have one to get rid of these feelings. I feel like I’ll be making up to the baby I lost. Thank you to everyone who had nice words and I’m sorry for those of you who had losses similar to mine.
A: I got pregnant un expectedly too last year, and I was so upset at first, then i got used to the idea and wanted it. Then I mis carried. I was so sad, and had a lot of guilt. the only way i got over it, was to get pregnant again. so here i am 🙂 but i’m married & we both wanted the baby, so every situation is so different. seek counseling, and talk to your partner. the loss of a pregnancy is very painful at any stage. good luck to you…
How long did it take to get over miscarriage?
Q: How long did it take you to get over miscarriage?I had a scan last week at 11 weeks and there was no heart beat. Its size was 9.5 weeks so I guess it died then?I had medical management two days ago and after contractions the little one came out but I did not look.I feel so terrible and empty. I have a healthy 12 month old little boy and am greatful to have him. this was my first miscarriage and am afraid if it happends again when I try to get pregnant again. I want to try as soon as the bleeding has stopped. When will I start to feel better?
A: I had a miscarriage in February of this year. It was awful, I was 11 weeks along and in total shock. It was something I always thought would never happen to me. My doctor recommended waiting 3 months before trying again. So for 3 months I did everything I could to get ready for pregnancy again. Everyday I had thoughts of what if this happens again, how many more times will I let myself go through this. But when May rolled around my husband and I started trying again. And on June 1st I got a positive test. My doctor saw me right away, I was put on progesterone for low progesterone levels, which is sometimes known to cause miscarriage. Now i am 32 weeks pregnant and as healthy as can be. Sometimes you just have to push past the fear. As for how long before the pain goes away, it doesn’t really, it gets easier, but I still think about the baby I lost, wondering if it would have been a boy or a girl, what it would have looked like. I just try and think that there is a reason for everything, and the child I am due with now must be really special, because had I not lost the last pregnancy, I wouldn’t have this one on the way. I still wonder if I want more kids after this one because I still have the fear of a miscarriage with future pregnancies. I guess only time will tell.
