Don’t be selfish. Caffeine is not good for your baby as it does cause miscarriage. Even when I started trying to conceive, I stopped caffeine all together. No coffee, no tea, no soda and I haven’t had any of the above in over two years now….

There is no amount of caffeine that “makes” you have a miscarriage, all it does is increase the risk for some women.

Q: Hi ^.^ I have just found out that I am approximately four and a half weeks pregnant.. we had a miscarriage in december at 5 / 5 and a half weeks.. and didnt try again til now (husband got back from 6 months of deployment in September, so we were really lucky to get pregnant right away)Needless to say, I am very nervous about miscarriage again.. I live in Sydney, and want to know if any of you can recommend a good doctor for me to see.. the one who confirmed my pregnancy by blood test hasnt been very helpful.. just told me to get more bloods for prenatal tests, which I did that day. I wont get them back until tomorrow, but what questions should I ask the doctor? He knows I had a miscarriage the first and last time I was pregnant, but didnt seem bothered. At the moment, what I have done an am doing is taking blackmores gold pregnancy and breast feeding vitamins, drinking water, eating right and healthy, I stopped drinking all caffeine, and will drink tomato juice (crave it for some reason +LOL+)- I’ve been craving and drinking hot chocolate too. I dont smoke or drink alcohol. And I have stopped getting tattoos 🙁 +LOL+Is there anything else I should be doing or could do? And yeh, what questions should I ask the doctor? When should my first pre-natal visit be, and what does it involve? Can I chose if I want the birth natural or c-section? And how do I go about it all? :s Ahhh sorry for all the questions, I just think its easier to talk to the ladies (or men!) on here who now what I’m talking about and going through..Thanks so much in advance!http://i450.photobucket.com/albums/qq224/AsheVienna/l_2d460ef501291c01e3599166334c75de.jpg
A: A big congratulations and welcome to mother hood!Sorry about your miscarriage also…I am also from Sydney, and looking for a doctor to go to there aren’t that many around to be honest the is more medical centre than anything else and GYNO are expensive i wish our medical system was like the US anyway! Here is a few questions to ask the doctor:Is there a phone number or nurse line that I can call when I have questions? Who should I call if I start bleeding or cramping? What should I consider an emergency? Now that I’m pregnant, do I need to make changes to my nutrition, exercise routine and sexual activity? How often will I have prenatal visits? There just a few i wish you all the best and if you wanna chat just email me xxx

A: Hi congratulationsWell you are doing all the right things especially with the tomato juice as tomatoes are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants. Try to include some bananas, Avocado, red meat, eggs and milk or yogurt in your diet. You dint really need to have another check until around eight weeks unless you get an infection (which you would know about)At your next check you be given a re feral for an ultra sound (ultra sounds are done at 10, 20 and 30 weeksThe doctor will check the baby’s heart beat with a doppleryou will get your urine check and your blood pressureYou dont really need to ask the doctor unless you are unsure of something. You dont get to choose whether you have a c-section or natural birth. C-sections are only performed if you have:* a breech baby*complications with the pregnancyor during the birth*twins*or gentital herpesyou only need to see the doctor every 4 weeks until you are 36 weeks and then every 2 weeks until you have the baby. You will need to make a booking in appointment at your prefered hospital at around 10 weeks, again at 24 weeks and at 36 weeks. All the best and good luck
