- How long do you spot/bleed before a miscarriage?
- Q: I can’t find anything about time length of bleeding before a miscarriage. I am 6+ weeks pregnant and at 4-5 weeks I spotted almost a whole week. Could have been implantation, though it shouldn’t have lasted that long, but I wasn’t concerned. I had a few pains in my pelvic area and had an ultrasound to rule out a tubal pregnancy. That was 5 days ago. That same day I started spotting again and I have been spotting every day since. I keep thinking I’m going to miscarry, but then I stop bleeding and then later I start again the next time I go to the bathroom. I don’t have any cramps or anything. This is my second pregnancy and I didn’t bleed at all my first, so I’m just a little worried and all my doctor says is to just take it easy for a couple weeks and then have another ultrasound. My question after all of that is can you ever really rule out miscarriage if you bleed for long enough and don’t miscarry? I just keep thinking it should have either gotten worse or better and neither is happening. Anyone gone through this before?
- A: I had a miscarriage last Sept at 10w5d. I started spotting almost daily (light pink) at 6w5d. It was never a lot and only when I wiped a couple of times a day. The Dr. said just to take it easy. Then one day I just started bleeding more than usual and ended up in the ER where they found that I was miscarrying. I was upset that I spotted for 4 whole weeks before having a miscarriage. It then took me another 6 months to conceive.
- how long do you bleed after the iud is removed while pregnant?
- Q: im about 7 weeks pregnant and the doctor removed my iud. she said i was going to have spotting but didn’t say for how long. she also said that if i bleed a lot it might be a miscarriage. i need to know if the bleeding i have know is normal and when will it stop. i dont want to miscarriage.
- A: my sisterinlaw got pregnant while on the iud as well she had it removed at 4 wks and had no bleeding. 1 week later she started bleeding and found out it was a miscarriage i would call your dr to make sure its not a miscarriage. or if u find its getting heavy or more than what u think should be id go to the er to make sure and have them check your hormone level just to be safe. hope the best for you!
