What are early miscarriages usually like?
Q: I’m curious as to how miscarriages usually happen in the early stages. I came on my period late one month (lets say say July 30). I started bleeding light on the first day. Then after that I bled very, very heavily–like I needed a new tampon/pad every hour. I cramped so much in my reproductive area and back that I was in a fetal position in the bed, and throwing up. Then, the bleeding stopped for like 5 days, then came back as a light period, and I bled again for 4 more days. It only happened once. I also took a pregnancy test and it said negative. Is that how a miscarriage can happen? To all the women who lost babies, I feel for you. Congratulations to New Mommy due in October! And I’m just curious–this incident was over a year ago. I would’ve been very sad if I had known for sure that I was pregnant. I probably should’ve went to the doctor, but it didn’t dawn on me until much later tat it was a possible miscarriage. I guess I have no way of knowing at this point, but I just wanted to know somebody else’s opinion.
A: That sounds like it might have been a really early miscarriage. If it was, you probably got a negative on the pregnancy test because your hormone levels were still very low.
how early can a miscarriage happen?
Q: I’m on birth control but a few months ago my life was really hetic (college things) and i didnt take it hardly at all… and well my period was a week late so i took a preg test and it was one of the ones that give u the “+” or “-” but it was a bad reading so i was going to wait a week and take it again. I kinda forgot and a week and a half went by. It had been over a month and a half since my last period. But then the next day I got it, but it wasnt like my normal ones. Lots more blood and cramping so bad i didnt get out of bed that day 🙁 figured it was just a REALLY late period but a friend recently told me her aunt had that but her test came back that she was pregnant. Is it possible i was pregnant? or do miscarriages only happen later on in pregnancy?
A: Miscarriages generally happen within the first 3 months of pregnancy, so if you were in fact pregnant, you would have been probably a month to a month and a half along. So it is defiantely possible that you did suffer a miscarriage. I would suggest making yourself a doctors appointment, because if it was a miscarriage, there is a posibility that your body did not clean out the uterus entirely, and you will need to have a d&c.As for what happens later in pregnancy, that is usually referred to as a stillbirth.I really hope that it was just a late, bad period, and not a miscarriage.
How early can a miscarriage occur?
Q: I’m just curious…how early in a pregnancy can a miscarriage occur? like whats the earliest that it can happen?
A: Like the other poster said, a fraction of a second after conception occurs. Many women don’t even know they’re pregnant when they miscarry. They just think it’s a heavier period.
