In Tell Tale Heart By Edgar Allan Poe, From what point of view is Poe’s story told?
Q: Also, Why is this point of view particularly effective for “The Tell Tale Heart”?What are some details in the story that identify the old man as an unreliable narrator? What do you know about the old man in the story? What motivates the narrator to kill him?In spite of all his precautions, the narrator does not commit the perfect crime. What trips him up?How do you account for the police officers’ chatting calmly with the murderer instead of reacting to the sound that stirs the murderer into a frenzy?See the student essay on the story in the chapter “Writing About a Story” in the back of the book. What do they point out that enlarges your own appreciation of Poe’s art? Please if anyone can help me with any of these questions I would really appreciate it.
A: i will only answer one ? the police don’t react b/c they don’t hear it , the murderer hears it in his head as for the rest read it yourself
How would you deal with all this?
Q: This year has been like the WORST! How can i deal with this? Maybe make luck better? What would YOU do if you were me? (Don’t say, “kill myself”… I’m being serious.) Okay, so here is a follow up so far in this year..January: My uncle has a heart attack. (I love my uncle to death and I had to deal with this and telling his kids)February: My brother moves out! (It is kinda good thing BUT i’ve never been away from my brothers) He has a drug problem now AND is being an idiot! Breaking into cars, stealing, doing drugs, no job, no education and stuff… My problem too.. Seeing as this is my brother and I love him! I don’t want him to go to prison or jail.. I know that is where he is going though.March: My brother comes home! Once he got here, he started a fight with my mom and uncle! Turns out, he was high on drugs! He did apologize to get to “stay the night”.. Guess what? He stole like 3,000 dollars and MY jewelry. (I know, “Why would you keep 3,000 dollars in a house?” Well, I’m 16 and just had it in a safe.. Also, that month.. Got punched in the face by some drunk guy.April: My other brother, (younger than the oldest but older then me.) stole the Lincoln and took it for a “joyride”! He totaled the car and ran from the cops! Didn’t get arrested though because the cops broke his arm and he had to go to the hospital! (i actually don’t know why he didn’t go to jail! I figured the ambulance would’ve taken him to the hospital and then jail?).. I have a mom with aaddison’s disease and if she gets too stressed it can be deadly.May: My mom gets diagnosed with ovarian cancer AND on top of that, she has a small tumor.June: My neice, who i’ve practically helped raise! (her mother was a drugie) JUST got taken away from her mother and is now living with her father, (not bad really) he just won’t let us see her.. July: Got a letter saying we were being sued for Aprils incident (I believe like.. 5,000? Something like that.)We got a new Lexus (Which made things a little better) but my brother stole that while everyone was asleep! We got a call at like, 4am and the cops told my mom exactly this, “Your son has been involved in a 45min high speed pursuit! He is going to the county jail right now and will be transferred to a different county in the morning! He has over 12 felony charges on him! The car is totaled and NOT drivable whatsoever.” needless to say, my brother spent 3 days in jail and we bailed him out.Brother comes home! Back into dealing drugs and doing them! He also has MRSA in his leg.. From the jail.I have 3 dogs! I had bought 2 puppies this month! <3 Turns out, one has an enlarged heart and a serious stomach infection! :-/ The other, well, she had eaten something she shouldn’t have! (not at my house but the previous owner! I know this because she hadn’t left my side AT ALL! Plus, all she had done was sleep.. Now my first dog (the one who i had before them) has the deadly stomach infection.Last but I’m POSITIVE it won’t be the least!! My dad almost died this month.. He choked on something and it swelled in his throat! He (of course) went to the hospital.Okay, (sorry i took forever.. 🙁 I just wanted to let y’all in on whats been happening) now every one knows pretty much what has happened! Btw, i didn’t mention EVERYTHING.. Just a little! This year SUCKS so far! I’m not a bad person and neither is my mom.. =/ Why would we have so much bad luck? And how to cope?Thank You.
A: Well I am certain I could go through each month and name bad things that have happened to me…. not just this year but for many many years….The problem is, you’re focusing on the negative and feeling sorry about them instead of feeling thankful for the positive….January- you are healthy and strongFebruary- Your brother moves out (you said yourself it was good)March- your brother is still aliveApril- your brother survives the accident (thank God)May- your mother is still alive and you have time to show her how much she means to you (what a blessing)June- your niece is no longer being raised by a druggyJuly- you get two new puppies you love very much and get the opportunity to make them feel lovedAnd your dad DIDN’T die….. That’s the most awesome news of all.Your entire family is alive and you still have the opportunity to make the most of what time you have left with themNot everyone can say that.Think positive and things will change.
I feel extremely guilty please help me.?
Q: I euthanised my 13 year old dog dec20 because he was dignosed with abnormally high kidney failure before he was euthanised his appetire was completely lost and he had become very weeek/slow and he already had an enlarge heart problem and was on medication for the past 3 months. His vet said there is nothing they can’t do much about it ( since he was an old dog, had a heart problem) axcept they can keep him on for IV/fluid to make him feel little better but that was not a possible outcome because he was never going to recover from his illness. there was no surity that for how long he was going to feel better if they give him IV. Then we had to choose the option to put him down his vet said this is the right decesion but eversince I lost my dog I have extremely guilt feeling for whether or not my decision was righ? or could I have asked for second ( another vet’s) opinion? what do you guys think? Please help me..my life is messedup now because of that guilt. do u think I killed my dog?
A: I had a dog for 20 years that I dearly loved and euthanized. I have felt guilty for all of those years. Recently I had a cat die a very slow and painful death. I didn’t want to euthanize him because of the first experience. Looking back, I am now sure that I did the right thing for my dog. It was quick and painless. He didn’t have to linger without being able to drink or eat. Forgive yourself. You have to shoulder the responsibility of making the decision, but not letting your pet suffer is the right one. Now I’m beginning to question how we let humans die or do people have the right to die before they suffer an angonizing illness? When you love someone or something, you should love it more than you love yourself. Sometimes you have to make the tough decisions. I will say a prayer for your peace.
