Does adrenal fatigue (chronic stress) cause weight loss or weight gain?
Q: I have researched adrenal fatigue because of my unusual and dramatic weight loss. I got tests done on my thryroid, sugar levels and many other things and they all came back normal. However I had been going through much stress when I started to lose the weight (had a miscarriage, staying out all night, fights with boyfriend etc..) and was wondering if that could be playing a role. But when I google adrenal fatigue, some articles say it causes weight gain and others say it causes weight loss. Is it different for everyone? Also, will the weight ever come back , I hate being this skinny!! ( 5’3 98 lbs.)
A: There’s no such thing as adrenal fatigue. You can get failure of the adrenal gland due to a number of conditions. Most commonly, if you were on a steroid medication for a long time that was abruptly stopped. Failure or atrophy of the adrenal gland causes a condition known as Addisson’s Disease. It can lead to fatigue and weight loss. Like I said there are a number of causes. Severe stress can lead to acute failure. I am talking about shock, ICU admission, mechanical ventilation, massive strokes, heart attacks etc. Other manifestations include skin darkening (hyperpigmentation), low blood pressure, dehydration and many more. It is a very difficult diagnosis to make. One needs a strong clinical suspicion to clinch the diagnosis because, unfortunately, the testing for this disease is equivocal a lot of times.Weight loss is common after miscarriage and stressful life events. I do not know how much you’ve lost. It’s important to put the things in the right perspective, relax your mind take a healthy diet. Stay away as far as possible from alcohol. Abstain completely from tobacco.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a good diet pill to help jump start weight loss.?
Q: After working really hard to loose weight, I became pregnate and had a miscarriage. This caused me to go up three sizes and ever since then I am unable to loose weight. I’ve tried diet and exercise and no matter what I do nothing works. If anyone could help I would be extremly grateful.
A: Hi,I’ve tried all different diets, and the weight loss is only temporary. I finally tried diet pills on the market are made from Hoodia. I saw this stuff on ABC News. It’s all natural and safe, and it works! My wife took it for a month and dropped 20 pounds. I took it for a month and lost about 13 (but I didn’t exercise).I bought the natural hoodia from this website: http://www.alllsite.info/free-diet-pills.php . I checked the web site address so I can post it here and I saw they’re running a promotion now to get a free 2 week sample for only $4.97! I’m going to order this supply for my wife and give it to her for Christmas =)
