What do you think about Heparin for last part of pregnancy? (thrombosis)?
Q: I need some advice from anyone with experience and hopefully I get lucky and someone in the medical field answers as well.I am taking Lovenox for thrombosis. I was diagnosed with it after having 2 healthy pregnancies followed by 3 unexplained miscarriages. I am 36 pregnant and the doctor wants me to switch to Heparin so I can have epidural. I am hearing a lot of negative things about Heparin. I am wondering if I should just take aspirin and not take the Heparin. The only blood work the doctor ordered was 4 months ago when he discovered I have thrombosis. Since taking the Lovenox he has not had any blood work done and he wants me to switch to something else without blood work. I feel I need to take this into my own hands. I am scared about bleeding to death or something. 🙁
A: I had 3 children and through my whole pregnancies i had to be on heparin and they are all healthy and fine. they are now 11 13 and 16 all are honer roll students and good kids i take coumidin for a living because of a artificial heart valve so i sure you will be OK …
My sister in law who smokes and wants another baby question?
Q: My sister in law has a daughter from a previous relationship. She is very overweight for a 4 year old. According to her the little girl is perfect the way she is. Ok, we get that, she doesn’t care about her daughter’s health very much. So my brother and her hook up get married and have a little boy. All during her pregnancy she smoked, and increased her smoking by another pack a day, equals two packs a day. =0 We were all shocked that she would do that to her unborn child! She said it was her body she can do what she wants! Ok, he was born with severe breathing problems even though he was full term. He has to have oxygen and everything at the hospital. Then he developed severe bronchitis several times since his birth (he just turned one). She then gets pregnant again, and does the same thing, she started smoking a great deal more and then had some problems, at about 2 months she started bleeding. Then she passed several huge clots. The nurse then told her at 3 months along, the baby was not alive in her and it had to be removed. The baby only developed to 2 months. She miscarried the next week on her own. Then 2 months later she decided to get pregnant again. She lost the baby after two months being pregnant. She thinks that there was nothing she could have done to help them. She is now trying yet again to get pregnant! She has not stopped smoking and insists she wants another kid! Her smoking directly influenced the deaths of those two babies, I know it, the doctor told her so. Because she smoked with her son he now has breathing problems. How can we (my brother’s side of the family) influence her to stop this!?!? We do not want her to keep harming babies and we don’t want another miscarriage. We tell my brother, but it is her that is doing it, he can’t stop her. Is there any advice as to how to go about talking to her about her actions? Anybody have similar experiences and have gotten through it? We need help and we don’t know what to do!Thank you!
A: That is disgusting. It may be her body but the baby’s body isn’t hers to do as she wants with. She is totally irresponsible and should be sterilized before it happens again. It’s possibly an indictable offense, to harm an unborn baby with drugs like that. It’s worth looking at, it may scare her to know that she could be charged with the deaths of those babies. I’m sure that she can be held responsible if she knowingly harms unborn babies like that. I can’t believe that any human can do something like that. She needs someone in authority to talk to her, a doctor or even a female police officer, someone who can give her a good shakeup.Hope it all works out and she is prevented from harming any more innocent babies.
