- Miscarriage info plz!?
- Q: I think I may be having a miscarriage and just want a bit of info. I could go to the ER but I live in a very rural area, and I know that past 4pm, there will be no one to do an ultrasound. I have to wait until tomorrow. Here's what's going on: Around 10 days ago, I started spotting a little brown fluid. When I called, the doc said it was fine, brown blood is okay and is most always somewhat normal. It was off on and on for a few days (a drop here, a drop there), then gone. Late Friday night, I had a gush of blood with some long stringy tissue followed by some cramping. I don't know how "bad" these cramps were, as I have a very high tolerance to pain (had my first daughter natural...no epidural, no nothing). Since Friday, I've been having bleeding on and off, enough to wear a pad, but not soaking the pad completely. It's hard to explain, but it's a good bit. All of this blood has been red, and I can see some amount of tissue in it (small chunk-like pieces). I've also had some cramps and a dull backache, which are all signs of a miscarriage, right? It may help to know that I've also experience diminishing pregnancy symptoms. My breasts were so sore and now are barely sore. I'm about six weeks, so I do believe I should be having some symptoms still. I don't "feel" pregnant anymore, if that makes sense. My questions are: in your opinion, do you think I have started miscarrying? If so, how long does this last? Should I expect more blood or more pain? If you don't think I'm miscarrying, what do you think is going on? I've never miscarried before. I don't want a "go to doctor" answer because I am going tomorrow and just need to clear my head tonight.
- A: It sounds to me you are experiencing a miscarriage. I am really sorry. Blood is never a good sign especially red blood. Good luck and God bless! I could be wrong, though. You'll have to wait until tomorrow to know for sure. Sorry, honey.
- PAP TEST NEGLIGENCE...Ive asked about this before but now i have more info to give....?
- Q: Hello everyone thanks for click on my question... id really appreciate some input on this matter!!I am a 24 yr old mother of 2 boys , ages 1 and 5.In 2005 i started seeing my OBGYN for my annual check ups... I had recieved my pap test for 2005 and all was normal. For some reason or another he didnt do a pap on me again until july of 2007 while i was 2 mos pregnant with my second son. There was no discussion about my results so i figured that everything was normal. In october of 2007 i was about 4 or 5 mos pregnant and still seeing him on a daily basis. One day i started having back pain and pelvic pain with heavy bleeding and since it was the weekend i went to the emergency room my OBGYN is affiliated with. I was told i may be having a miscarriage but only time would tell. I saw my OBGYN within a few days and he acted a bit concerned and sent me for an ultrasound revealing i had previa of the placenta. Because my pregnancy was high risk at that point i decided to goto a high rish OB in early November 2007 for treatment than on... to skip to after my son was born in FEB. 08 i started seeing my original OBGYN for check ups and for concerns i was having. i was having and still have constant leg pain , vaginal bleeding and pelvic pain and pressure... he chalked it up to some BS that maybe i had endometriosis ( which made sense at the time ) or bladder problems. For some reason he held off on giving me a pap until June 2009 because i was then having the blleding problems and what not.I was told to call within 4 weeks for my test results. EXACTLY 4 weeks after my test i called to get the results and they were still "pending"... August 12th i notice my OBGYN'S number on my call id. I called thinking they had my test results.... the receptionist looked in my chart and told me it was in "pending mode" and that she was the one who called me and it was a mistake.. so i believed it.2 days later i recieve a letter signed by my doctor stating that i need to speak with them about some test results. I immediately called them, The SAME receptionist answered and told me that she signed my doctors name and sent me the letter... she checked my folder again and said "mmmm.. im not seeing any results back yet" again it was a mistake , im sorry for worrying you"...... by september i thought it was odd i never recieved my test results so i made an appointment to see my OBGYN and discuss with him my test results and my re occuring bleeding. He looked at my chart and said " nope nothing to worry about" and chalked up my bleeding to "hormonal factors" and gave me birthcontrol pills. By then i was mad. I called my new family doctor and asked for her to request the results... because i was not getting any where with the OBGYN... and nothing! So i called again yesterday November16th 2009... to make yet another appointment with my doctor to see if i could get another pap. As was talking to the same lovely receptionist i asked if my results came in just on a hunch... then she comes back on the phone and says "WEVE BEEN TRYING TO REACH YOU! YOUR TEST CAME BACK ABNORMAL!"... i said waiiit a minute you wrote me a letter in august saying i needed to call you in regards to my test results and you said you made a mistake!" she said "well you had an appointment to see your doctor after the results came back in and you were a no show" I said bullshit i was there in september and the doctor said my results wernt back!.... she immediately put me on hold. My obgyn got on the phone and he was all about saving face offering to waive my co-pays (which i have none) and offering to get me in in 2 weeks for a biopsy. I said screw it i want ALL my file so i can get a second oppinion. After reading my most recent pap that they jerked me around with it states " i have severe dysplasia , and a high grade squamous intraepithelial lesion and a ( CIN III ) which is precancer cells that have been left untreated. Reading back to my other previous pap in 2007 when i was pregnant that test too was abnormal with a low grade lesion , and i was also positive for HPV , he never told me that i had hpv or that my pap was abnormal in 2007... instead he let it go unknown and now im in a worse case. I dont know what legal rights i have but i know one thing is for sure.. if i was told in 2007 i had precancer cells i would have gotten it checked out right away.Im so scared and confused.... and very very upset that i was in the dark about everything. Any suggestions?? oh and im sorry this was sooo long , i hope you get the point :)
- A: i don't know much on the legal side of things but if its on your cervix, i can tell you nowadays there is a extremely slim chance that the precancerous cells to turn into cervical cancer or at least that's what my doctors told me, i had a similar experience 3 years ago i went to get my regular pap, a month later they called me and said the results were "slightly abnormal" but nothing to worry about. kept going for yearly paps with no more mention of the slightly abnormal results until i moved so started going to a different doctor, got the yearly pap, the doctor called me to discuss the results and found out i also have HPV, have precancerous cells and a massive amount of scarring on my cervix from giving birth to my 2 kids. She set up an appointment with a specialist who took a biopsy of the cells which came back negative for cancer. so now i have to go every 6 months to keep an eye on it. even if the precancerous cells turn into cancer its a very simple procedure to burn them off or slice them off.
- Weird question but hope some one can help....??? Vanashing twin?(Kind of long)?
- Q: Ok heres my story. In 2007 I had a sever miscarriage were I went into the hospital and thats when I had my misscarriage. Well a few days later I went to get into the shower and something dropped out of me. I looked on the ground and there was my placenta from the misscarriage. I thought nothing of it because they never said anything about that to me so I thought that I was fine and went into the shower. Several minutes into my shower I almost pass out. I get my bf to call for an ambulance. I went to the hospital they told me I was a little animic and told me to come back the next day to do an ultra sound, (I should mention that at my first dr. appointment they did a vaginal ultrasound saw one healthy fetus)When I came back the next day they found what seemed to be the shape of a fetus still attached but had no heart beat, and they also said that it was a couple of weeks older then the first baby that I passed. I asked them why I didnt see the second baby on my first ultrasound, the tech said that sometimes the other baby is right behind the first baby therefore you cant see the second one. (theres a reason for all this story, sorry its long)Well a couple of months later I got pregnant again and found out I was having twins. I miscarried those as well....my family has NO history of twins on my moms side....I dont think my biological father has any history of twins either, some how I ended up pregnant twice with twins...go figure...Well, Im pregnant again and I was wondering is it possible again to have twins and not see the second…again? They did a vaginal ultrasound again at my first visit and they only saw one…I probably should have asked them to check on the top part to see if they could see two but I didn’t think of it at the time. Also, is it possible to have symptoms of a vanishing twin WITHOUT passing any of it? Like fore example, could I stop feeling pregnant and lose all my signs when and if I lost a twin?A few weeks ago I had lost all my signs of being pregnant and thought that I was going to have a miscarriage(Im 20 weeks now by the way and I must have been about 15 weeks along when I lost all the symptoms). Well I talked to my dr and he told me that he can set up an appointment to get it checked but it was gonna be a while(Im on medi-cal government health inssurance so they don’t really keep you as a priority over some) and that if I started bleeding or had more signs of a miscarriage to go in to the hospital. When I never had any other signs and at my doctors appointment they did a uterus check and an ultrasound where they saw one healthy baby, but nothing else….Is it still possible to be pregnant with one surviving twin and lose all your sympotoms when you lose the other? Does anyone know of any good sites to look at for this kind of info…Im very curious about it now…THANKSBy losing my symptoms I mean that at first I stopped feeling pregnant. Then I lost the extreme soreness in my boobs and they actually shrank, I had sever morning sickness up to the point of about 15 weeks and I still have it occasionally here and there but nothing bad. My stomach shrank a little and want as 'full' feeling as it did before. I wasnt running to the bathroom as often and my emotions started levaling out just a little bit..I should mention too that I have had several miscarriages of signles inbetween the two sets of twins and now...if that helps any.Would the first time really be considered twins considering that it was a good couple of weeks older then the fetus that I miscarried in the hospital? I was 12 weeks exactly when I miscarried that one on the hopsital and they said that the other one was at least 14 weeks if not 15 weeks.
- A: very very interesting , i'd say your baby daddy got some super sperm goin on up in him girl :Pat 20 weeks there is only like a slim chance that theyw ouldnt see the second baby ; but dont be disspointed , everything happens for a reason , there has gotta be a sign why you didnt carry those other twins .but this is a very interesting story as well = )very odd to carry sets of twins like that right after another .. goodluck and congrats = )sorry for yor previous losses = (
