Anyone have a 2nd trimester natural miscarriage, without a DNC, and went on to get pregnant?
Q: I was 5 months pregnant, and lost my baby on Sept.1st “08”. It is day 11, and I’m not bleeding heavily, but I am having black blood clots when I go to the bathroom. The doctors said It came out like a balloon, all at once, and that this was good. She did an ultrasound on my uterus and said everything looked good inside, nothing was left. I have an appt. this tues. But I am trying to avoid having a DNC. I want to try and conceive again, and I know DNC can sometimes prevent that. I also seem to bleed more if I get upset.I just want to hear from someone who has been through a similar situation as mine. I don’t want to be pressured into having a DNC. I have heard of women bleeding for months after a miscarriage. Mine has been for 11 days now on and off. Also, since I was so far along in my pregnancy, should I wait longer to try to conceive?. Thanks ladiesI just had a huge blood clot come out, is that also normal?. I will be asking my doc come tues. just wondered if anybody else passed big clots after the miscarriage. Thanks again.
A: I also had a spontaneous miscarriage at 20 weeks (Aug 29th, 08). Sorry for you loss, I know how hard it is. I had to have a D&C because the placenta would not detach. I opted for it though, I was so tired of waiting for the placenta to detach naturally I went ahead and asked for it. I am still bleeding and tomorrow will hit the two week mark. I am bleeding lighter now, it’s almost like what you would get the beginning of a period or end of one. One day I didn’t bleed at all. I stoppped clotting about 5 days after the D&C but still have loads of discharge, as if I were still pregnant. Mixed with the blood it’s kind of messy and disgusting. If you have to have a D&C it’s really not that bad. It’s very quick and inevasive. You may cramp some afterwords, but maybe for half the day or a whole day. You should wait at least 4 months before ttc again. This way you body has time to flush everything it needs to, your uterus has time to heal, and you should be back on a normal ovulation schedule by them. Some women have gotten pregnant shortly after miscarriages and D&C’s and have gone on to have healthy pregnancies and babies. So really it’s all up to your body. But do try to avoid having sex for 3 weeks as you can get infection and that would HURT bad! After that if you feel your ready, try again. Again sorry for you loss and hope this helped!
Another miscarriage question……?
Q: Hi girls (and guys that know and understand).I miscarried three weeks ago an 11 week old very much wanted and loved baby. I am still bleeding a little. I have spoken to my doctor and two nurses about this and they have all assured me this is not out of the ordinary – some women bleed for six to eight weeks. However, this is not my question. Can you ovulate while still bleeding from a miscarriage? DH and I are not having sex yet as we have been told to wait until the bleeding stops and we are not trying to get pregnant again so soon, I will be waiting a couple of months – I am just curious that is all.
A: Hi there,I micarried too at about 14 weeks , so I know how devastating that is and I am sorry for your loss.I think it’s 50/50, some women ovulate right away and others need more time. The day of your miscarriage would be equivalent to day 1 of a new cycle, so it’s not the length of bleeding that counts. I ovulated a few weeks after my miscarriage, so I know it’s possible.Good luck.

A: How far along are you? If you just found out not too long ago that you are pregnant it could be implantation bleeding. If you;re further along then Idk. Miscarriages usually involve heavy bleeding. Is your pain all over or is concentrated more on one side? Pain on just one side can indicate an ectopic prenancy. Honestly I’ve had an ectopic. Like you it started with light bleeding and I went through 2 weeks of blood tests. The numbers kept going up(although kinda slower then they should) so my doctor kep waiting it out. Finally one day I had the worst pain imaginable and ended up in surgery that night. I don’t mean to scare you, just trying to let you know what happened to me. Also, some women can have light bleeding on and off the entire 9 months. Have you had sex in the last couple days? Sometimes sex can cause your cervix (which is super sensitive when pregnant) to bleed alittle, and that is perfectly normal in pregnancy. However, any time you have any bleeding you should report it to your doctor which you did. Anway, my advice is to stick with your appt for the blood test. While you are waiting try not to stress. Sometimes bleeding can be a sign that a miscarrage MAY happen and stressing will make it more likely that you actually will. If the pain gets really bad or if the bleeding gets so heavy that you are going through pad after pad go to doctor IMMEDIATLY. If the doctors office is closed go to ER. I hope nothing i said bothers you. I just wanted to give you every possibility. Chances are though since your bleeding is light that it’s probably nothing. I hope everything works out for you. Best of luck
