Is there different types of miscarriages?
Q: I’ve never had one. but i notice a lot of miscarriage question’s on here and i thought you had to go to the doctor when you had one or think your having one? shouldn’t they tell you certain things after this occurs? i’m just curious I only know of 1person to have one and she went to the doc but don’t know what they told her really…so just trying to learn something! Thanks in advance :)thanks celestial…sorry for your lose..that really explains alot!..i just see those questions and i just wonder why they don’t go to a doctor…i know i would..but that’s just me. just trying to educate myself
A: You are supposed to go to the doctor, for confirmation of a miscarriage. Who would want to just sit around and wonder? With my miscarriages, I began to spot blood and went to the doctor. She confirmed my fears and told me to prop up my feet and get plenty of rest. A few days later, I started getting contractions and the urge to go to the bathroom. That is when the baby would pass (didn’t have to see it, it was still in its tiny sac). After that, I would continue with the heavy bleeding and clotting for awhile (It takes about a minute to soak through tissue paper and thick pads, so lots of maintenance during that time). Eventually the blood would get lighter and lighter and about a week later (depending on how far along you were is how long you will bleed), I was done. During a miscarriage you cannot wear tampons, and afterwards you should refrain from sex for awhile. Sometimes it can take a month or two to get a period back, and it may be different than before – lighter or heavier, longer or shorter, worse or milder cramps, etc. I called the doctor and told her that everything passed out- all of the tissues, etc. Therefore she said there wasn’t a need to examine me because the body cleaned itself out naturally. Some women’s bodies do not clean themselves out naturally, meaning that that it refuses to expel the dead fetus. This is usually discovered at an ultrasound when there is no heartbeat and the woman does not begin bleeding. If she does not start bleeding it out within a week, they will schedule a procedure called a D&C, where the doctor cleans the woman out. It is my understanding that if this is done, she will not bleed at all because his removal is so thorough. When a woman is farther along, like 22 weeks, she may be required to deliver in a hospital because it is considered a stillbirth. If you have any other questions just add them and I’ll edit my answer. Hope I helped.
A question about miscarriage…Any stories? ?
Q: I know there are a few different types of miscarriages. Has anyone had a spontaneous miscarriage and a missed miscarriage? Just wondering out of paranoia since I have had a spontaneous miscarriage I was wondering my odds of having a missed miscarriage. If one has recurrent miscarriages would they be the same type every time or could they be different? Does anyone know of any statistics to put my mind at ease? Thanks.
A: I have had two spontaneous miscarriages. One in May of 07 and one last Tuesday. You can have different miscarriages, unfortunately, I had the same both times. Stop stressing, or you’ll make it worse on you and baby!! Good Luck!!
Can pregnancy kill you?
Q: I know that a woman can have so many complications while pregnant and there are many different types of miscarriages. Can a woman ever die from being pregnant? What are the “warning signs”?
A: It can happen, but it rarely happens. Nowadays, we have so much prenatal care that a doctor can usually detect complications and problems way before they get to the point where it is a danger to a woman. For example, a molar pregnancy has the potential to be fatal, but are almost always detected in enough time to remove it, and ensure that the women will be able to conceive in the future as well.So if you take care of yourself, are aware of what is going on in you body and go to all of your prenatal appointments, the chance is slim 🙂
