Are there any signs of a miscarriage?
Q: If you have a miscarriage, do you always bleed? Or are there any symptoms at all, even if you’re very early in your pregnancy? Thank you! :]
A: My first clue when it happened to me is that one morning I woke up and my boobs were no longer sore and I didn’t have nausea any more….later on that day i started bleeding just a little…that’s when I went to the ER and they told me I was having a miscarriage.
cerclage at 24 weeks pregnacy without any signs of miscarriage except 1 cm dialated cervix – any risk of it?
Q: Who experienced any harm of cerclage – as I read, that there is a risk of that surgery, but my Dr.advised that it’s necessary to close cervix to protect baby from infection (in the shower, etc), as my cervix is short and a baby is rather heavy for 24 weeks and there is a threat to deliver before time along the risk of infection. But I heared, that it’s also a lot of risk to have cerclage surgury done! And I am afraid of both: doing that surgery and loosing my baby. Of course, I will do what the Dr advises, but I wish to know, if someone exprienced that case and have some more information for me about this?
A: Well, the good news is that you are already 24 weeks, which is past the age of viability, so even if your baby was delivered early, with every day that passes the chances of survival are dramatically increased, especially if your hospital has a good NICU unit. But yes, if you have a cerclage, there are definite risks. Risks that it won’t work and you’ll dilate anyway, risk that if you do start to dilate the stitch will rip the cervix, risk for infection. You really need to weigh your options, and I think it is smart that you do what your doctor recommends, because they know your condition and your body better than any of us do.
Are there any definite signs of a miscarriage?
Q: I don’t have any insurance and have too many medical bills as it is.I think I need to get checked out because my period is just too wierd lately.I’m tired all the time also.Oct 5th I started to spot for 3 days,no cramps and at that time I was 2 weeks late.I started again Oct.30th, not too much cramping but I am bleeding quit heavy and clotting. It’s been 3 days now and the bleeding hasn’t slowed up.When I get up in the morning I have to run to the bathroom. This morning I woke up with a bad PMS headache and threw up twice.Had to turn around and go home, couldn’t work like this. There really isn’t too much cramping like I normally do.So it’s weird. My temp is 99.8I’ve been under so much stress lately I’m just wondering if it’s having a wierd effect on my body.
A: Cramping with a miscarriage can be severe or very minimal. When I miscarried, I barely had any cramping. There can be very heavy bleeding with large clots. If you are concerned, by all means, call your gyn, or go to an ER. They can perform a bloodtest to see if there is any trace of hcg in your system. An ultrasound may need to be done. If you by chance are having a miscarriage, then a D&C might need to be performed, to make sure that there is no tissue left, as that could cause infection. Since you have a low grade fever, you may want to get checked out.I wish you all the best.
