Would heavier gage wires from batterys to motor on a 36V gulf cart give more power and longer charge?
Q: The six – 6V batteries are connected by 6 ga cables. This cart uses the old type coiled resistor for speed and power. Battery cables stay cool during use, but cables to motor get hot. Wonder if larger cables (10 or 0 ga) from battery pack to motor and back would reduce heat, increase power flow and make cart run better with more power, and last longer overall. Thanks.
A: Yes, bigger wires in this situation will give you more power and less heat. It will also give you the appearance of a longer charge, since less energy will be wasted as heat. I recommend using 0 gauge copper cables, which can carry 100 Amps.

92 ranger xlt 4.0 runs good but temp. Gage sits on cold.?
Q: 92 Ranger – 28,000 miles, xlt, 4.0 ( no, not 128,000 miles, i got lucky with this truck). The temp. gage moves about an 1/8″ after runing for 1/2 hour and stays there even after driveing it. No overheating or problems. Except the heater seems like it’s not geting hot enough. Is it more commom that a thremostat will stick in a open position or a closed position? The truck is not overheating at all, but the gage just sits around the cold position. Thanks -six.
A: i like the ranger it might be temperature monitor thing open the hood after a drive and feel how hot it is
