It might, but it also coats your hair with wax which will fade it a little but will keep in a nasty color and will hinder your hair from accepting new color. You really need a salon quality cleansing shampoo to actually work. Drugstore crap…

I use it as a deep cleansing shampoo and it doesn’t damage my hair! I usually follow it up with a moisturizing shampoo and then I condition my hair! I like the Daily Clarifying one!

A: No; Suave has exactly the same chemicals as Tresemme and 99% of the other shampoos out there. If you read that site, they claim that cocomidopropyl betaine is the carcinogenic ingredient. Well, that’s the main cleanser for most “herbal” and “natural” shampoos. The concentration of these cleansers, however, is soooooo diluted, that unless you literally DRINK the shampoo, you aren’t going to be harmed by putting it on your scalp for 10 seconds and rinsing it off.The only thing that will happen if you use Suave is that your hair will be drier because there are fewer conditioning agents in that brand of shampoo.
