you should ask the people at the tanning salon. Depending on which lotion you use sort of depends on how long you should wait. From my experience and what they told me about my lotion (which has a bronzer) I usually wait 4-5 hours. That’s w…

I always suggest waiting 4-6 hours before showering, if you can. It’s not going to streak or run or anything like that. It’s just that you won’t get the full effect of the bronzers. It isn’t going to effect how much of a natural tan you get…

after going to a tanning bed, can you shower?
Q: i mean, will showering wash off any of the activated bronzing ingrediants in the lotion i use? or is it safe to say once im out of the bed there will be no gradual after-effect?i was talking about a bronzing lotion. i know that bronzing beds take about 24 hours to see its full effect, so i didnt know if the same was for the lotion. also, sweatiness is not really an issue because i only go for 6 minutes and dont end up sweating.
A: if you are using a lotion that is a tanning accellorator and also has cosmetic bronzers, the only thing you will be washing off by showering is the cosmetic bronze which just gives you a little extra glow for a few days anyway. showering right after won’t affect your actual tan at all.and lotions are not a crock of sh*t by any means.i know from eperience that the ones made by Designer Skin work 100%. they keep your skin hydrated while tanning and have vitamins and stuff to help you skin stay oxygenated. your skin needs oxygen and blood circulation to get tan. you might start to notice a circles on your shoulder blades or at your tail bone that aren’t tanning…those are pressure points that arent getting oxygen or blood flow-therefore not tanning. to solve that problem, flip over for a few minutes while your in the bed.BUT! shaving your legs will!sounds gross, but i only shave my legs every 2-3 days when im building a tan because shaving exfoliates your skin..and removes layers. so if you are still trying to build a tan, hold off as long as you can on shaving your legs, but once you get to the color you want…you can shave everyday.
When tanning in a tanning bed, should you shower before or after tanning?
Q: I’ve heard that you shouldn’t shower after getting out of the bed, that you’d lose your tan. I’ve also heard that you should take a cold shower that it closes your pores and helps you keep your tan longer. I’ve also heard not to shower before because you are ridding your body of the oil in the skin that helps maintain the tan. Thank you for your time.
A: I would shower after. I never saw or heard anything about losing your tan, you get all sweaty in a tanning bed so of course you should shower after wards, and what if it wasn’t properly sanitized.
Taking a shower after the tanning bed?
Q: Ok this may seem like a stupid question but bare with me. If i take a shower after I go in the tanning bed will it take away some of my color that I just got?
A: after tanning you continue to tan for 3 hours.so no you don’t “wash” it offbut you do “stop” it.so wait 3 hours before you shower.i know burnt tanning lotion and sweat isn’t the best smell.but you’ll get nice and dark and it will be worth it.
