Ways to Avoid Lines at Disneyland

Check for ride times. Posted in front of most Disneyland rides, there are updated signs letting you know how long the average wait time for that ride is. Another way to check the ride times is to utilize a service called RideMax. This is a relatively inexpensive service offered. This can in turn save you money in the long run, as you will not be wasting your time in log lines. With the time you’ll save, you can go do other things.

Obtain a ride FastPass. This system was introduced at Disneyland several years ago, essentially you pick one up and go do something else while it saves your place in line. It’s a great system and a terrific time saver.

Be a single rider. If you don’t mind temporarily separating from the people you have brought with you to the park, try heading towards the single rider lines. They are generally much shorter than the regular lines. Sometimes it’s nice to go on rides alone anyway.

Use your cell phone. You can often find applications that can be downloaded to your mobile devise that will tell you the aproximate wait times for the rides at Disneyland and other theme parks. With this kind of technology on your side, you can save a lot of time and money. A lot of the applications are free of charge or have minimal fees to use them.

Don’t wait in line twice. Parents, if you have more than one child, don’t make the mistake of waiting in line twice just because each child may want to ride a certain ride at different times A smart traveler will designate specific times of the day that they will wait in line for each ride, no if and or buts. If the child chooses not to go on a ride at the designated time, they miss out on that ride.

The early bird gets the worm as they say. Arrive to the Disneyland park as early as possible. Sometimes, Disneyland offers “Magic Times” that will allow you and your family early admittance to the park. Either way, it’s best to arrive to the park about an hour prior to it opening. This way you can be the first in line to get your tickets, and the first to get in line for the rides.

Purchase your tickets outside the park. Many hotels and even local Disney retail stores offer ticket sales to the park. If you purchase the tickets before you get to the park, you will avoid the first line, which is simply waiting for your tickets to get in the park.
